Au pair is an anglicization of the French term "au pair," which means "on par" or "equal to" and describes a young person living on an equal basis with a host family in a foreign country. The au pair helps the family with childcare, housework, or both while staying as a guest of the family and generally receiving a small allowance (or pocket money). An au pair will typically be a young woman, or sometimes a young man, who is accepted into the host family as an extended family member. Both the family and au pair are expected to respect cultural differences and display tolerance towards one another. HTH

Lillibet ...I appreciate your comments ....I think that some of Miss K`s posts were a bit aggresive
I never suggested that agressive posts were limited to the reponders. The "be nice to all moneysavers" rule applies to everyone;) Please can everyone remember this tonight as it looks like things could get ugly again. Please;) I'm not for one moment suggesting that everyone isn't entitled to their opinion or to publish their view, just that you don't have to be rude in expressing it.

Appreciate what you are saying Lillibet - but people standing back and keeping quiet has led to many unnecessary circumstances in the past.

I think OP needs to get her head out of her arze and enter the real world. (In the nicest way - obviously).

  • Why on earth would the OP be on high rate mobility? She can run up the stairs?
  • I think she would get middle rate care and low mobility ...based on "her symptoms"

Errata ...that link was very useful .. .it proves in fact that the direct payment claim is fraudulent as the "au pair" is actually employed to look after the child.........claiming the direct payments to actually pay her was a lightbulb moment  ...I bet she could not believe her luck!!!

Sorry lillibet:o .....she makes my blood boil! I will do some breathing excercises!
