Wait for the offer from DRP of a reduced amount, and for some reason they like to make it something like £**.99 maybe they think by using more numbers instead of zeros they may get it?0
-
Just to update - got the Notice of Intended Litigation today. Ooooh! Scary! I haven't been offered a bargain knock down price yet, it's still £130. Should I pay them, or buy myself a REALLY nice pair of jeans?0

You're a woman- do you need to ask? Hope they fit well.0

Cheers, give them FA, thanks for your advice and reassurances, it's helpful and strangely comforting to have someone random back up your own thinking, especially when it's clearly something the random person does a LOT (ie has lots of experience with) x0

Hiya, I was issued with a £60 ticket or £30 if I pay within 14days because I parked in a disabled bay in sainsburys as I had my 82 year old Grandmother with me and she wanted to buy some Easter Eggs for my children, she suffers from Arthritus and has poor vision so i thought it would be ok to park in a disabled space as these are nearer to the entrance and have wider spaces so she can open the door wide we were only max 10 mins, am so annoyed that I have been given this ticket, I wrote to them as soon as i got home but looking at this perhaps i should not have contacted them, should i just pay the fine, please can someone advise me what to do:mad: N n non QUOTE=Anna Nonymouse;discussion/3854875]I parked in a free car park, managed by Euro Car Parks. I overstayed.
We got 2 letters, addressed to my husband as the vehicle keeper. This morning we got a letter from Debt Recovery Plus, who usually, I see from the sticky re: threatening letters you will get, work for UKPC.
I am ignoring ignoring ignoring, but wanted to update that Euro CarParks are now using the same debt collection agency as UKPC.
My husband is bricking it, btw - it's his name on the letters and me who won't let him pay the "fine"
Should I scan this stuff in? Would it help?[/QUOTE]0 -
Simple answer- the so-called ticket is breaking the law. No, not from your point of view- from Sainsbury's and Euro Car Parks.
Not only should you not even CONSIDER giving them any money but I would go on the attack and threaten to sue THEM under the Equalities Act. Of course you were entitled to use a disabled space if you had a disabled person in the car- the LAW says so, never mind what some idiotic, ignorant parking company says! If they knew their own job better they ought to have known that.
The Blue Badge scheme does NOT have any application on private ground anyway. They are totally in the wrong. I suggest you ask Sainsbury's to have their legal department investigate and confirm their responsibilities under the Equalities Act, and then ask why they are NOT complying with the law.
Do not even waste any time with Euro Car Parks or their equally pathetic and powerless debt collectors. They are staffed by morons who won't have a clue what you are talking about and won't be interested in learning.
It is Sainsbury's who need to bring themselves up to speed as they employ these cowboys.
And tell hubby to man up! I know the letters will be in his name, but Euro Car Parks NEVER take things to Court. Certainly won't be in this case.
Over to you!0 -
saajmj,,,nothing to worry about its a scam, do not contact and ignore all threat o grams from or on behalf of these cowboys,,,you have not been fined its merely a request for you to part with your hard earned cash,,,quick lesson,,,,a PENALTY charge notice is legal,, only issued by police/traffic warden,,,,must be paid,,,,what you have is a PARKING charge notice=scam/not legit/not legal,,,,equates to loo paper,,,so relax, chill, feet up and IGNORE,,,full stop.0

Hey guys thanks for the advice, ok well if I get any letters shall I just bin them or do you think I should keep them? And I don't have a blue badge for my nan so coz I parked in a disabled bay without one will this make a difference, have Euro parks got more on me?0
-
Keep the letters but don't reply. You could get into a position to claim damages if they continue to misbehave.
No they haven't got a thing on you now and should have less if you go and complain to Sainsbury's. Blue badges aren't necessary. It is shocking that either this parking company doesn't know the law or is (worse) prepared to pretend it doesn't in order to scam money.0 -
It would be very helpful if someone receiving these letters could send them by pm to Crabman so he can update the ECP entry in the letter-chains thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
