I got a letter today from N power saying that I need to take the letter and 2 forms of ID to the Post Office and I will be given £135 cash, has anyone else had this?

You wont get Cash for it.

on the Letter there is a barcode which they scan and then they put the credit onto your key or card.
  • By any chance can you claim this, or anything similar while unemployed? (not retired).

The reason I am asking is because I have asthma and the cold weather is really effecting my breathing, I have been avoiding putting the heating on for a while now as it is just costing way too much!

I applied for this online, got an email straight away confirming they had recieved my claim and then not another peep from them! (Scottish power)
Topped up my key with £20 today and after I put it in, my account had been credited with the full amount.
Don't lose faith like I did just because they haven't been in touch! I am so pleased that I don't need to worry about electricity for a good while x

I pay by direct debit so I thought they would just put a credit on my account but cash suits me just fine :)

The annual benefit will be given to customers as a payment to their electricity account each year.
Taken from the Npower site, I wonder why I got the cash then?

If you are on a low income it is likely you will qualify but not every provider is the same. There is absolutely no harm in asking your provider to send you the forms.
    Good luck.

I am surprised that 'Donnalou' got a cash payment. I also pay my electricity by Direct Debit but my account was credited. I was in credit by £92 and was told that I could apply for a refund but my monthly direct debit payments would rise by £10 per month. I wont apply for refund as I dont want my DDs to increase.
