income related benefits have to be claimed as a couple if they are living together ( the OP says the bills are in the fiance's name.... why would the bills be in their name if they didnt libe at that address?)
that means they would BOTH be receiving income based ESA and both are entitled the the WHD

You are assuming that they live together and that in addition they both qualify. That's not always the case. The fact is that if one qualifies but the electricity account is in the name of a partner who doesn't qualify then they don't get WHD.
  • Has anyone had there,s from British Gas yet?

im asking as heard that they were paying them out during December but not heard of anyone getting there,s yet.
  • I'm with BG and I haven't personally had confirmation that a payment will be made in December only what i have read on here,

i assume they live together because the bill is in te partners name.
why would anyone have an electricity bill in the name of a oerson that doesnt live in the billed property?
and as the poster receives a means tested benefit.... it would have to be a joint claim. as such, both would be receiving te benefit and thus, both entitled.
unless someone puts a utility account in the name of a pperson that resides elsehere ... which would be a really odd thing to do .....

    We are really bad struggling

    Anyone had there's???
  • :( I applied for my payment due to illness (DLA currently paid high rate) which means keeping my body temperature stable is harder. Part of my disability means I am vulnerable as I might not do things like possibly applying properly. For instance I rang Scottish Power to apply, asked if they needed me to do anything, but was told no, it was all fine and the payment would just come off my account. Nothing happened and that was many months ago. Just been on the phone to SP and there is nothing on my account about it and I am not getting it. The guy says he can put it through for me for next March but now I wonder if I apply that way again if it just won't happen again?

Are you in receipt of any means tested benefits, or on a low income?
