I applied in mid-November, didn't make a note of the day I did it but on looking now I found it in my browsing history. I didn't take a screenshot of the completed form (should have really), and I never received a confirmation email. Today I received a letter from British Gas saying I have been registered for the scheme and that unless I hear from them again I will receive a credit of £135 by 31st March '14 (I'll believe it when I see it).

I had to phone them to get clarification on what documentation to send. I ended up sending everything to be on the safe side. i doubt they'd need the sick note only proof you are in receipt of ESA.0 -
well that's a surprise, just topped up with my Scottish Power key at an outlet I haven't used before and an additional £135 has been credited.
So if you're with Scottish Power (prepaid) they have started to come through.0 -
i pay by direct debit and can see scottish power are going to play the same games they played last year!
just sent a meter reading and my account is £60 in credit and they want to put my payments up by £25 a month to cover the period til april.
'but i qualify for the warm home scheme and so there is £135 to be credited to my account in time for that bill' i say.
we dont care they say, we will lower your payments after april to reflect this!
so all summer i underpay because there is a large amount of credit due to the fact that they ignore the WHD.
they dont know their @rses from their elbows!

I have just had my DD payments put up as usual despite having confirmation of WHD payment for 31st March. However with BG they reimburse any amount remaining in credit over £120 at the end of March of each year so it doesn't really matter . For the past 2 years I have received a cheque for the full WHD amount as I'm always in credit.0

come aprul, scottish power will drop my payments ridiculously low again (£28 a month and im all electric) because the WHD will put me so far in credit.
then the same thing will happen again next winter and they will hike the pauments up again.
i dont know why they refuse to see the whole picture and just allow me to set the amount of my DD to around £35 a month all year0 -
I'm with British Gas and the WHD is showing on my account today.0
