Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.0 -

it wasnt widely advertised or known about although i first read about it elsewhere on mse, only those on pension credits got the discount automatically other qualifying benefits had to apply and have to do so each year0 -
I looked into this scheme for my 84 year mother. She is with Scottish Hydro which is part of Scottish and Southern Electric. Initially when I phoned them last October I thought that the £120 payment was in addition to the social tariff she was on. Big mistake. I was told that she could not apply as she was on their Energy Care Plus tariff, but they were ending these tariffs and she would then be able to apply.
I was astonished to find that her off-peak tariff would increase by 47% and the peak tariff by 60% along with an increase in the daily charge. This means an extra £700 a year.
This is outrageous. I have the feeling that because a lot of the people benefiting from the social tariffs were/ are in vulnerable groups this is not being highlighted.0 -
Hiya,
Im disabled and have received the £120 a year for 2 years now, But being 30 this month do I still qualify??
Im also looking around at Tariffs, Currently with Southern Electric, But considering a move to Scottish as it can save 300+ a year x
Any help much appreciated.0 -
i re-applied today on the e-on website and i fit the criteria as got it in march. abit silly as its needed for winter :huh:Need to find time for more comping
Trying to lose weight through Slimming world0 -
i suppose the idea is that it helps with the winter bills, and if you are in credit after the £130 payment in march you can ask for the DD to be lowered0

thanks for this reminder. i appreciate it0

Got my £130 on my prepayment key this morning, 7th. October when I put a tenner on it. I thought last year's was good early in December but this year's could be some sort of record. Well done Ebico / Southern Electric.
Mine is automatic. I didn't have to claim.0 -
Ours goes on next electricity bill0

Does anybody know what the core group was for the 2011/2012 scheme - my Mum receives Pension Credit, not the savings element, the guaranteed, or whatever it's called.
None of us knew about the scheme, and she insists she hasn't had the payment - I saw a post earlier saying that it *has* to be paid to the core group.
She's with Eon.
Can we do anything about this, does anybody know?
Now she knows, we can make sure it comes through this year, but I wonder if we can do anything about last years.
Thanks0
