Parking ticket while sitting in the car!

thanks for the info.
the guy had a date and said there were pictures of my car being in that car park all those months ago and they would start action against me from the 15th september.
there are signs that are so small and high up that you have to pull in to see them.there is no private parking type sign at the entrance.i have read about people being clamped while reading the sign and being about to leave.
i am not disputing the fact that i should not have stopped there, but within a maximum of 10 seconds a clamp was put on the car while i was in it with engine running and in gear about to pull out.
i have read that this company have even clamped the very customers that this car park is for, while they go into the snooker club.
have also read that they have ccj's against them but these have never been enforced.0 -

thanks again for the help and advice.looks like they really are a lawless firm.even ccj's are ignored and not pursued by the courts.
if i owed 10 pence to a bank or phone company and didn't pay i would get chased for it.just wonder what it is about these firms that makes them special.0 -
You have a strong case. You will win, but you need to get your skates on.
From the 1st October clamping on private land will be outlawed and this bunch of Grunts will disappear back under their stone. The good people on Pepipoo will help you get a notice before action together so that you can sue all those in the frame.
CCJ's are hard to enforce on companies with no assets. The trick is to sue the principles (the people who employed the clampers), for amongst other things failing to check the reputation of those it was empoying (the only good use of the multiple CCJ's these types usually have).0 -
You need to find out who hired the clampers. This is of the utmost importance. Start with the landowner - try the Land Registry people, you may need to pay them a small fee (although smooth talking has been known to work) which you can add to your claim, or find out at the local council who pays the business rates for the car park.
Its imperative that you find this out, the people who hired the clampers are, realistically, the only people you stand a chance of getting your money back from.
Start digging, quick.Je Suis Cecil.0
