If a whole heap of people cancelled sky that would decrease their revenue and in turn reduce their spending power. Maybe then terrestrial channels will be able to buy back all those programmes that Sky have taken only for the viewers that are able to afford it. So these show will be available for all and everyone's a winner(apart from Sky shareholders and Murdoch).......Well I can dream can't I?

Haha but that will never happen will it as there's always going to be a lot people who stay with sky, hence why there's no point in doing it - all it would result in for me/most people, is less channels for probably the same price since virgin have put up their prices anyway.

I'm with virgin for broadband and phone, but only by the skin of their teeth as they gave me a good offer to stay with them as i'd had no end of problems with them since joining 2 years or so ago, when they were still NTL of course. :)

It's a nice idea in theory but i don't think it would ever happen.;)

have nothing but praise for the customer service I just received, whole hour on phone to broadband advisor sorted out everything and now I'm zooming round every site with ease. Also spoke to normal cust services and poor guy said he's been getting an ear pounding from very rude people ringing up, I don't see why it's not like it's his fault, I think everyone should reserve their complaints for the big guys. Why not start a massive protest petition for Murdock or Branson or both??? Just thinking out of the box

The National Consumer Council are talking about making a super complaint to the OFT in relation to this. They say both companies are acting like kids and its time to get back around the table and sort it out

Will we still be able to watch new Lost then???

Not now, but in August it'll be available via their On Demand service.

Or you can use your broadband to find alternative means...

I am having a sky box fitted on monday, having no sky one is NOT an option, I will be downgrading virgin to the free channel pack as we have 2 phone lines and broadband with them. so I wil have virgin tv and sky tv, for £5 LESS ! (assuming that we can have two different boxes/systems working from the same tv?

Virgin Media has offered to go to arbitration with Sky before deal ended. It was Sky who did not want to go to binding arbitration.

Lets make some thing clear this deal did not go wrong just because of Virgin. Deals like this are in negotiation for months I would not be surprised if these talks where going on before NTL/Testwest brought out Virgin mobile. It not something which happens over night, these are long term contracts which have high finical commitment.

It a fact that Sky One ratings have been dropping for few years now. TV is going thought big change. Idea's of channels like Sky One is old school content on demand is why it is going, when it really happing things will change. You would easily start producing content which VM will be very happy to publish for you. The like's of Google would not pay billions for likes YouTube, which has never made a profit.

Things are changing for the better. You are becoming boss of viewing content, it there when you want it, not when they want you to watch it.

Just happen after I posted this. Promises I did not know this was going to happen.

It's just been announced that existing Virgin Media customers (unhappy with loosing the sky channels) can cancel their contract with No Penalty if you do it before the end of march, all you need to do is give 30 days notice.

I'm sure that Sky would welcome ex Virgin customers with some good 'New customer' offers.
