still struggling to find out peoples logic for buying these :/

See my previous post! I didn't have a printer before, so for a tenner it's very useful. I've used it mostly to print out things like maps & driving directions, recipes, address labels, emails with useful info on... etc. I don't do a large volume of printing or need to print high res photos, so it's perfect.

I'm less than half way down the black cartridge and only a teeny bit into the colour cartridge so far, and when they run out I'll look into cheap ways to refill them or maybe do another offer like this and get a whole new printer!

I'm perfectly happy with it, absolute bargain.
  • Watch the cartridge price though: £62 for two colour/one monochrome, for Dell's own brand!

I missed this offer the last time, so placed an order for two printers last night at 5pm, got my PDFs around 10pm, then got a phone call this morning confirming they will deliver on the 30th March. I think it's a fabulous deal.

How long before some company says 'Buy our ink and we'll give you a free replacement printer'?

    Mist.

    You buy inkjet refill kits.
At the moment Netto have got them £2-89 for black and £5-99 for coloured.
    Should refill about 8 times.

Do I do refill myself - into the tiny trial cartridge they provide? Would it work? What's netto website address?
  • Got my shipping notification at 2pm this afteroon, by which point Lynx had already tried to deliver my printers! (I was in Ipswich arguing with PC World at the time.) They'll now be delivered on Tuesday.

Click on this link for instructions on how to fill.
Although it says Lexmark the Dell cartridges are identical.

They sell these kits all over the place but obviously the best time to buy is when they are half price as now at Netto.

Identical for the purposes of refilling, but not interchangeable: the Dell cartridges/printers are sneakily designed so that you can't use the cheaper Lexmark cartridges/compatibles in the Dell printer. One of them (the Lexmark, I think) has an extra lug on it somewhere.

I already have one of these £10 printers and you can use the Lexmark inks just push a bit hard on the lid that holds the ink cartridge it will click in. I also use Tesco cartridges and have refilled both makes. I ordered another printer on 22/03/05 confirmation email same day received phone call to arrange delivery 23/03/05 printer delivered today 24/03/05.
