Yes, I’d consider cash the purveyor of disease, but wasn’t sure about the car park where we were going so made a special trip to get cash out and buy something to get change (brought it home and it got well washed with soap and hot water 🤣). Turned out the car park has joined 21st century as a result of Covid, but sandwich bar hadn’t... bizarre i have to say. The man selling fish on his driveway even did card, as well as the ice cream people.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Do you know, SL, it hadn't even occurred to me that Bureaux de Change would have closed!
Went for a 26 km cycle yesterday - it was rather windy! Also visited some bullocks (and had to climb over gate to escape - they were much lovelier in their curiosity once we were safe! We weren't mean to be where we ended up!). Nice ride though, although my legs are definitely feeling it today.
My PB savings have transferred to my current account, so have just put £4k in my pension and will put the other half into an S&S LISA. I have a cash one at the moment, but it's absolutely rubbish for interest, so will open a Nutmeg LISA this year - especially as they now do a socially responsible fund.
Have sent a short and rude email to the energy company (Tonik, I don't know why I'm not naming and shaming to be honest). I've heard absolutely nothing from them so told them bluntly that I'm just waiting for the time to elapse before I go to the Ombudsman. I doubt this will make any difference though.
We're not having a supermarket delivery this week (not until 21st!) or veg box as we've got loads in and there's always the garden for beans etc. This should bring spends down a bit.
MS things:
* Invoicing and money shuffles done
* MBs placed
* Redcurrant muffins with freshly picked redcurrants/rhubarb stewed and ready to crumble
* DH has bought part to fix toilet
* Clicks done
* Have signed up to Qmee - mainly for the daily 3p quiz!
* Various small bits of work done this morning
* Need to go into town later - intention is to cycle
* Going to make Sis's birthday card (no idea what to get her... but she has just had an offer accepted on a house!)
* Used up the remainder of the tart ingredients on another of the same last night. And....wait for it.... ate it with a pile of lettuce smothered in balsamic. I am *not* a lettuce fan, so this was a big achievement (the balsamic definitely helped!) - hopefully I can nurture this new MS ability!
Gratitudes
* Beautiful countryside nearby
* Family catch-up time
* Plenty of food in
* Balsamic vinegar!

Oh no, what happened with Tonik? I'm with them too and definitely think the customer service has got worse over recent months/years. They were one of the hot new entrants into the market a while back and seemed really on it but have taken down a lot of the functionality from the website (so you can't see graphs of usage etc) and generally seem to have lost the plot on responding to customer emails. Last week I received one about the account on my old house and we moved in March!Choose kind6

Hiya Hazelnutty, good to see you back! we left Tonik at the beginning of February and they still have my credit! There was some lame excuse about them switching services and my closing meter reading getting lost - which they didn't bother contacting me about, it's only because I'm on top of these things that I'm even aware of it. Long, long saga of excuses, fobbing off and lack of communication - no one takes ownership of problem, lockdown means you can't speak to a manager because they're all working remotely (one was meant to ring me back but never did), spoke to one vaguely competent person who referred me to complaints department (end of May, if not June - this started back in March), complaints department haven't even bothered to get back to me, despite saying they would in 10 working days and two follow-up emails from me. Totally had enough now!
* 1 x MM survey (haven't done these in ages, but it was only 5 mins)
* 2 x 1P surveys
* off to find my phone for the Qmee daily quiz!
* cards made for sister and friends' child - pleased with them considered I'm using stuff up! (Although lovely holographic card I was given years ago does help!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Afternoon all,
Did a little bit of work first thing, but have been out in the garden most of the morning, cutting the grass, deadheading, staking and putting washing out (weather can't make it's mind up - I was putting it out as it was spotting with rain, but I think it's stopped again now). My next job, after some lunch, is to harvest the red currants and some more broad beans - the thing stopping me is finding somewhere to put them in the fridge!
Meeting mum for a walk in a bit, haven't seen her in a while. Also need to call in at Costco on the way back for chicken for the cats and a couple of other bits. Dinner will be homemade salmon burgers using the fresh tarragon from the veg box delivery. We have all the other ingredients already.
MS things:
* Clicks done
* Washing drying outside
* Food from the garden (had rhubarb crumble last night)
* Recommended Team profit to a friend who is struggling a bit financially at the moment (until about a month a go they'd never needed to hear of MSE, imagine!)
* Comps entered
Gratitudes:
* Food from the garden
* Silly cats
* A lovely visit to Dad's yesterday - he didn't moan and we didn't fall out about anything - amazing!

Hey vix, what a nightmare! I find any kind of problem to do with bills/finances super stressful, especially if I can't get it resolved quickly. Hope you can switch supplier soon. I went with them for the new house as there was an overlap with the sale of the old house and thought it'd be easier to run 2 accounts with the same supplier. But will definitely be shopping around next year.
Homemade salmon burgers sound immense! DD is a salmon fiend.Choose kind5 -
Morning all,
Slept terribly last night (got up and put some kidney beans on to soak, caught up on threads on here and read the news - I know screen light is bad, but the book I'm reading was part of the sleep problem - a bit disturbing!), so feeling very lacklustre this morning. A decent chunk of work has arrived, so I need to get on with that shortly. Fortunately it shouldn't be too taxing.
We didn't have salmon burgers as there was only one piece of salmon in the freezer, so we had salmon and tarragon risotto instead, followed by more rhubarb crumble. Tonight we're having chilli (hence the kidney beans!), meat for DH and veggie for me. I called into Costco on my way back from Mum's so the freezer is now full of the cat's chicken, hence we're using the mince from the freezer for dinner tonight. Have harvested broad beans and some more raspberries (have been really impressed with the raspberry crop), but currants are still on the bush as the fridge and freezer are both full (and I need to freeze some fridge bits today too!). Really glad I decided against veg and supermarket deliveries this week - it'll be good to make some space and use some bits up. Tomorrow will be pizza, as I need to pinch out my basil plants and don't want the pinchings to go to waste!
MS things:
* 1P surveys done - officially half way to pay out now!
* YG survey done
* Need to place a bet
* £144.97 OP made
* £119 S&S investment made
* Need to open an S&S LISA - need to get DH to check there's no incentive for a referral
* Clicks done
* Have sown more spring onions where I've pulled and used them
* MM survey
Gratitudes:
* Rain - don't need to water the garden and the water butt is full
* Focus, despite the lack of sleep I'm feeling motivated to achieve today
* A good evening class last night, just don't ask me about the homework today!
