Morning all,
Thanks Jess - I think it's important to have something to look forward to. The takeaway also involves collection from a nearby village, so I/we get to go for a drive! And I'll get to go and see my Dad (at a distance) when the garden centre delivery arrives. Karma - imagine Tom is enjoying the attention (although I hope they all kept their distance). However, I hope now he's done his laps he takes a proper break and sits back and enjoys his birthday.
Not a lot to report here. Only a tiny bit of work today and none yesterday. I painted the bird table with some wood preserver we've got hanging around (not enough to do the fences though, sadly). Today I'm intending to cut the grass. Takeaway tonight!Some excellent clapping here last night - I think this crisis is slowly pulling our neighbourhood together, which is nice. Can't remember whether I said, but I ordered Dad a puzzle to keep him busy. It arrived today and he seemed pleased with it, although that might just be him being polite. I've told him I need regular updates! It's such hard work keeping his spirits up (and he's all over the place at the moment). Fortunately sister has now seen some of this, so is more committed to helping. It's Dad's birthday next week, so we're trying to work out how to mark it/make it special. Cake and quiche deliveries will factor into this.

* Clicks
* Tiny bit of work
* Using WM and DW on cheap rate
Gratitudes:
* Nice catch up with some friends last night
* The sun is out even if breakfast in the garden was rather chilly
* Clapping and community

It’s patchy - clouded over now and we came inside with our lunch. Need to get back out there and cut the lawn. I have cooked the cats’ chicken and made wild garlic and cheese scones (all the rage with riverford customers as they’ve deliver the wild garlic this week) - swapped the flour for buckwheat and despite the addition of the appropriate amount of baking powder they didn’t really rise... taste ok though.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Re fence paint - I believe B&Q are offering a slower than normal click and collect service from some stores. They were out of compost when I looked but fence paint might be an option. The hardware store (independent) in the nearest town is open for five hours a day and has longer (well-behaved) queues than the supermarket, according to DHSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

My new diary is here4 -
SC - they’re OK, but rather buckwheaty- taste like galettes (which is not necessarily a bad thing but changes then flavour rather!)
SL - I know I could get it from B&Q, but it definitely isn’t an essential journey - and my fence doesn’t need repair ‘after the recent bad weather’ as per police guidance... I know I could... but I don’t really need to... and as I suspect we’re going to have fairly limited opportunities for fun this summer, there’ll probably be time after the lockdown has ended.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Had a lovely evening yesterday. Went early to collect our takeaway so I could pop into village shop en route - got the flour, sugar, eggs and milk needed with no issues and no queuing. As a result we were very early for takeaway and rather than block up the right car park there we drove past the pub down the lane for a few minutes - a bit of an explore as although I’m familiar with the area I’d never been in this direction before. Spotted real live lambs gambolling in the fields (as opposed to the ones I see on Facebook or Instagram) and pulled over for a few minutes to enjoy the views, fresh air and tranquility. Returned to collect our dinner, which was ready dead on time, and headed home. Dinner was lovely!
Lockdown fun:
* Brewdog virtual pub - quiz and cheesy music 😊
* Yummy takeaway
* Illicit excursion (how has a five minute pootle down a country lane become so exciting??!)
MS things:
* clicks
* YG survey
Gratitudes:
* Good chats with both parents and sister
* lovely dinner
* fully stocked village shop with friendly staff and virtually no customers 😊 I may make a habit of going there!
Have a good day all - it’s wet here, so still won’t get the lawn cut!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
