Belated Happy Easter all (thanks NG)!
Spent Saturday doing more jobs (although don't ask me what). I decreed yesterday a day of rest, but this seemed to spur DH on to do more! He repaired the bottom of the bird table, made a planter for the front garden, measured up for a couple of shelves and did a small patch of concreting (just remembered - I spent Saturday weeding the patio). We had dinner with his parents, saw my family and had drinks with friends in the evening - all virtually of course - you can get around much quicker when you don't leave the house! It was very lovely.
I slept appallingly last night, so am having another day of rest today! Whoops! DH is brewing and the kitchen smells lovely as the wort coolsI've done a couple of houseworky jobs and am thinking about some more family history cataloguing now. I also need to work on a meal plan for the week as the last one finished last night. Brain is on a go-slow though, so it can wait for a bit.
MS things:
* Saved on petrol and pub prices for drinks?!
* Not charging car is saving us lots of money... but reducing the ROI we'll get on the charging point
* Using up stuff we already have in - both for DIY jobs and brewing. It's a win-win!
Gratitudes:
* Bluebells are absolutely stunning in the woods at the moment!
* Time spent with family and friends
* Lovely weather (until today) - and a thunderstorm yesterday - exciting stuff! (And we heard a plane - one of those big things that moves through the air that we used to use to travel (i.e. go from place to place).... We're on a flight path, so the lack of planes is very noticeable! Or more to the point - the presence of a plane is now very noticeable!)

All those jobs you're getting done! Good for you! And isn't it weird to hear planes? I heard two helicopters early this week, late at night - turns out a guy was loose in the town brandishing guns ... I think lockdown got the better of him, sadly. In custody now, along with *more* guns.OTOH, I have some bluebells in my garden! They're lovely - though I'd like to be around some wood to see them in that context too. And I wouldn't mind an exciting thunderstorm if I was safe in the house, to be honest with you! Enjoy your day.2023: the year I get to buy a car5

I wonder if the plane was one of those the UK Gov has chartered to bring home people caught up in India? - the newspaper suggested there were up to 30,000 brits in India (although those in the provinces may not be able to get to the cities because of travel restrictions)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Afternoon all,
Just finished work for now and will head out for a walk with DH shortly. The sun is out again today and it's warmer than yesterday. My tomato plug plants arrived at last and amazingly were in ok shape. They're having a drink now and I'll pot them up after my walk.
Karma that's a definite cause forGlad they caught him. SL, no, DH looked (of course) on Flight Radar and it was a cargo plane. Karma, it is a big number, but I imagine quite a few are people visiting family in India, rather than holidaymakers, so less Raj-like and more diaspora visiting their ancestral home.
MS things:
* Clicks done
* Eating from cupboards (aren't we all?)
* Tomato plants - hooray!
Gratitudes:
* A lovely surprise of some flowers from my friend who lives in the Scillies. They will have been from the flower farm her husband works for (which has now closed until its next crop is ready - so suspect these were leftover pickings) - sadly they've suffered from the extended journey - she sent them on Tuesday apparently! Hopefully something will revive a bit. Either way, a lovely surprise and an Easter card too!
* Dinner tonight with Dad and Sister... trying to think positively about this!
* Sunshine and warmth - the outside world beckons!

Afternoon all,
Sadly they were unsaveable Jessybut it's the thought that counts and they really brightened my day! Worryingly, I think I've managed to kill my tomato plants though
I protected them from frost, but I think the sun was a bit hot for them yesterday. In good news though, the spring onions are coming up at last (should probably plant another row now) as are all my broad beans, and the newer pea seeds (no sign of runner beans yet, nor the ancient squash or spinach seed...).
Today has not been a NSD! Discovered blood in a cat poo this morning (sorry, TMI!), so have had a phone consult with the vet. They think, given ginger cat's proclivity to eat anything and everything that it's probably just a one-off but to monitor him and let them know if anything changes. £40! If I do have to take him in for an examination they won't charge extra though.
Have also placed an order with a local garden centre. They're doing deliveries, which they'll deliver to my Dad's house for free - we've combined our order (as they're also making it simpler and you can order a pack - which is too much for either garden on its own). And I've ordered takeaway from a nearby pub for dinner tomorrow evening) Looking forward to that, even if it's not MSE - and it's supporting a local independent business.
No work today (although some yesterday), so need to get on in the garden. We've got pittas for lunch, so I'm going to make a lentil pate to go with them and some lettuce from the veg box. DH has popped into work this morning for a few bits - he should be back for lunch though.
Also having a supermarket delivery later (as staff DH has been offered priority booking, which we're sharing with his parents). Annoyingly all this home baking means that there's only 1 bag of flour out of the 2 I was allowed to order (and 3 I need) - no doubt all the home bakers are still eating the prepacked-in-plastic stuff too - leave my flour supplies alone! Will head to local farm shop (attached to aforementioned pub) to get flour, eggs and the sugar that they couldn't supply.
It's amazing how busy you can be, even without much happening! Have been trying to keep up contact with all the old ladies I know and then there's family to chat to and friends... it's all very sociable, this being stuck at home! Yesterday wasn't a NSD either as I donated (small amounts) to Captain Tom's efforts, the local homeless shelter and the local Cats Protection branch - I know they all need help at the moment.
MS things:
* Clicks
* TCB on an Ebay order for Dad (good job I didn't encourage him to set up his own account - the item he wanted was more expensive than the identical one from another seller and the seller isn't posting at the moment, so it wouldn't have arrived anyway! He's worked in IT all his life - how can he be so hopeless?!)
* Inventive food to use things up.
Gratitudes:
* My biggest grumble is flour, sugar and eggs shortages - first world problems.
* Amazing Captain Tom and his fundraising - how wonderful!
* Sunshine and spring onions!

I watched him being interviewed this morning, what a guy!I hope you find some flour, sainsbugs have been sold out every time for us but we managed to get some delivered from a local cake shop, along with yeast.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5

Sounds like you're really enjoying juggling it all and sharing the orders and whatnot - good stuff! I really admire Captain Tom too, I'm slightly concerned that he's doing too much
not really the walking, but the interviews. Still, he's a cheery soul, I'm probably projecting how horrendous I'd find it these days if I were in his shoes!
Also good vibes for ginger cat!2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Hope kitty is ok, vix and has no further problems!
