Working at Living2 -
Afternoon all,
Thanks SL ... and Fortune, you’re welcome any time (just have to stay in the garden! 😂) .
Have spent today working in the front garden weeding endlessly. There’s lots more to do but I can at least see the difference I’ve made from the living room window. Plans to turf the terrible weedy borders are forming for when we can get turf. (Turf rather than seeds as it’s got more hope of killing the weeds).
As a reward, we’re going to have Chinese takeaway tonight. I’ve definitely burned the calories.
My click and collect order for zero waste shop is ready, so I’ll go and get that tomorrow (may take advantage of the change of scene and take a walk round the deserted town centre). Hmm.... there’s a wilkos there... what do I want from them?MS things:
* clicks
* tiny, tiny bit of work 😔
Gratitudes:
* nice chat with neighbour today
* takeaway
* help in the garden from DH - nice to have company

Ooh, will you be driving there, madvix? I have wilko envy! I so want some compost, and maybe some pea and bean netting, but I'm not prepared to go into a shop to buy it. Except Wilko
but I'd have to use public transport and the amount I could transport home would be pitiful. Enjoy the zero waste shop!

I will be driving, although unless I have a specific reason, probably won’t park near Wilkos. Compost is on order from garden centre... tempted by fence paint and a tomato plant if they have one, even though I’ve ordered seeds. But have to say, there’s definitely a large element of non-essential there.... but actually we do need ibuprofen and I do normally buy them in wilkos, so if I go for them and get a tomato plant alongside that would be OK. (Doubtful on fence paint - would need a lot and that sounds like a faff in current circumstances)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Have a great trip!I'm not really up and running with the idea of deliveries during lockdown - will investigate, thanksETA - just ordered compost, bark chippings, tomato planters, and a hose from a local garden centre firm - no money exchanged hands, apparently they now ring to take payment and arrange delivery. Its a brave new world out there ...2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Afternoon all,
Karma, lots of local businesses are doing deliveries that didn't previously - it's worth a look (a friend even said her hairdresser was dropping off some ready-mixed hair dye for her last week - I can't help but think this is utterly ridiculous though).
Have finished work (more than yesterday, not enough) and been to collect my c-n-c order. Also bought a loaf from a local bakery and some ibuprofen... and.... a tomato and pepper plantThey are nestling in the tiny greenhouse now and hopefully I will not kill them! Sister and I have now confirmed our plans for Dad's birthday tomorrow and I've spoken to Dad to let him know our plans.
MS things:
* resisted urge to buy naughty treats in bakery
* clicks
* work
* free parking in town
Gratitudes:
* Able to combine tomato plant purchasing with a necessary trip out
* Dad's present arrived - phew!
* a lovely chat with the zero-waste shop lady
* replenished supply of zero-waste crisps
Have a good afternoon/evening all!

I laughed about the hair dye - no more for me. I am seriously considering a DIY summer plumage haircut though. DH has some clippers and if I can find the number 7 attachment I am up for it - just under an inch long and maybe leave the top for some scissors. The alternatives are
a) leave it
b) cut it with scissors (hard at the back)
c) ask DH to help (like that would ever happen!)
d) grow it
