I'm with you on the clippers SL, my hair is driving me mad at the moment! Unfortunately, some serious dithering from me about choosing a salon means it's not been cut since October and what's usually a bob is now almost touching my shoulders 😢 And I bet they'll all be fully-booked once lockdown is lifted!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Ladies, if you decide clippers are too extreme there are Youtube tutorials I believe. I’ll probably just continue to let mine grow - and BIL’s fiancée will for me in I’m sure, when we’re allowed to see her again.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I'd just about decided to have a proper haircut come the spring ... the last time I had a proper one was just before a family wedding (cough .... May 2016 ... cough) .... It must look incredibly ragged at the back, but it will be a while now before I take any action ... four years, whats another few months
I am kind of brazening it out, though, I'd like to get that sorted.
Madvix, glad to hear your plans for your dad's birthday are working well, I hope everything runs smoothly today.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Afternoon all,
Thanks Karma - so far so good! Just got back from a distant cup of tea in dad’s garden (I took a flask and my own mug so I didn’t touch anything of his). I think he think my sister and I are trying to feed him up! Saw the complicit neighbour and he assured me all was good for this evening - he then also did a superb job of pretending he didn’t know it was dad’s birthday when he spoke to him over the fence. 😁
I’m now baking some red currant muffins using last year’s home grown currants - a dual benefit as we need snacks and it frees up some freezer space. Then tortillas for tonight’s enchiladas which we’re all eating on Skype together.
DH spent this morning updating our America spreadsheet with details of what’s been cancelled and what we’ve yet to cancel ourselves. 😔 That’s the money saving news....
Gratitudes:
* it was lovely to see Dad, even if I wasn’t able to give him a hug
* the weather has warmed up, making my visit more pleasurable!
* the loneliness of dad’s neighbours

Afternoon all,
Well I think dad’s birthday was a resounding success - the neighbours had made a card (with photos of them all on instead of signing), sang beautifully and one had made cake and cut it carefully and left it in the middle of the road for people to take. They are really super neighbours to my dad. Dad was thrilled 😁
DH and I have been for a lovely long walk this morning and I’m currently lounging in the garden on a camping mattress (no loungers). Leftover enchiladas are in the oven for lunch and pizza dough is proving for tea. Plans this afternoon include a zoom chat with dad to update him on family history and then our weekly family chat. Other than that, lounging in the garden with my book 😁
Hope you’re all enjoying the last of the sun too!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

How lovely for your Dad and what a good idea for you to set that up. We don't do enough enjoying the garden as there is always so much to do. The vacuum cleaner came out again yesterday - seriously - after the Aldo's purchased protection tunnel disintegrated on its way out of the bag - just like carrier bags from a certain SM do. It was the only way to clear it up and stop it blowing everywhere - so Henry did it!

Hey SL, your story of Henrying the grass made me smile - we could have done that this weekend too! DH cut some foam to soundproof the mini and managed to get bits of it all over the lawn. We opted for the 'human hoover' approach (a term pinched from Brownies, where we didn't always have access to a hoover and there'd be tiny bits of paper all over the carpet) - it worked, but why didn't we think of the actual Dyson?! That's a very poor product from Aldi though!
Never really sit in the garden, but it was nice and after all the running around I'd done on Friday (hunting for eggs as DH had used one more than he should have, leaving me short for Dad's cake, and baking and visiting), I'd decided I needed a 'day of rest'.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday and did very little. Even managed to get slightly golden arms (sunscreen was applied!). Have done the small amount of work available, but there's a promise of a slightly bigger project later this week. Today I need to get supermarket delivery and veg box orders finalised, tidy the garden before the rain arrives (soggy gardening glove anyone?) and put some washing on and get it dry (problem with doing it overnight is I actually have to be proactive - and I wasn't at the weekend).
MS things:
* Clicks done
* Work done
* Gave my car a run at the weekend, instead of taking the electric - just to keep it ticking over.
* Now have 4 runner bean seedlings coming along; spring onions are coming on; all strawberry plants seem to be thriving; rasps are spreading as intended
Gratitudes:
* Lovely family zoom yesterday - we've worked out how to play Boggle (a family favourite), so I think regular games may become part of the repertoire
* Nice zoom chat with Dad about family history
* A garden to relax in - had a huge sense of contentment yesterday evening after all these lovely things (and the walk in the morning) - cooking our hm pizzas in the kitchen with the sun pouring in, it was lovely
Hope you all have a good day, I'm off for my walk shortly.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

In addition to all of the above jobs, I’ve also sown some cress, 3 peppers (bell, I think - will teach me not to be more specific in my labelling), mixed salad seeds (bbe 2012) and basil (also old seed). If nothing appears from the latter two I have another pack of each to try. If nothing else this lockdown is forcing a clear out of my seed collection!
Been for a walk this afternoon, told to eff off by two cyclists who were intent on not getting out of the way, despite there being plenty of space to do so (I simply told them to get over), and am now enjoying a cup of tea and a sit down.
