already posted this else where but:
its taken me less than three weeks from first letter to getting £4,360.00 my full amount.0 -
with all the reading all the forum, its seems the RBS settle quite quickly. Going to post my first letter today, feeling quite good about it because we have been with the same bank for 20 years, was financial secure at first however my circumstances changed and we eventually began to become overdrawn. Up to that point our bank would have thrown money at you if you wanted it. At that point the banks attitude changed and we began to get charged for anything. We are now back where we were in the beginining and have just about paid off all our debts:j I now understand that people who are in large sums of debt, how vulnerable they become, and would borrow money from anyone at any price. Our debts were huge, however we didnt enter into any iva or schemes, I worked every shift I could and put every penny towards paying the debt off. Will be debt free around the middle of this year. Hope it will be sooner if RBS pay my bank charges back. xx0

I'm due to start court proceeding against rbs on thursday if i've had no reply from them. I've had a look at making a court claim online and it says that they must have an address in England. Has anyone ever come across this. I did used to live in Scotland and my account is in Scotland but i'm now living in England.
Any help?0 -
If you read the Success Stories you'll find that RBS are settling before it gets to that stage so I wouldn't particularly rush to start the court proceedings on Thursday, maybe phone them first.
If you do go ahead and submit via MoneyClaim online use one of the RBS main London addresses rather than the registered address in Scotland.0 -
Thanks Edinburghlass. I think I'll hold off until next Monday.
I was also wondering about my account. I no longer have access to my RBS account even though it is still open. I have a loan with them which is being managed by a Debt management company but it is through a different account number to the one i'm claiming for. Do you think they would be able to pay by cheque as technically my other account is not in use? Hope this makes sense!!!!0 -
Hopefully they will pay by cheque, they have done to some users to others it is paid into their account. In theory though, be aware they could pay the money into the account that is in debt. Good luck!0

I know the bank has 40 days to send out details of your bank charges, but I was just wondering how long RBS usually take you send them to you?0

Well RBS we very good at acknowledging my initial letter and then I sent my
2nd letter - it is a couple of days now before I start court proceedings so I phoned them and they said there is an 8 week backlog before they can even consider my claim.
So I will proceed with my claim ............... when I sent my letters with HSBC after the 2nd letter they paid out, it looks like RBS is going to be different.

Hi
I am having real problems with the RBS and the Data protection release.
It's an old account and initially we didn't have the account number etc, they sent the data protection letter back saying they cant trace without account number etc.
Anyhow managed to trace the account and sort code and re submitted the letter. Today I get the same letter back and it says they cant trace without the acct & sort number, the bank address.....surely thats what the sort code identifies!!!!!! And they say they need to know when the account was opened and closed.
I'm thinking these are delaying tactics, they have the sort and the acct number, that is surely all they need. It was all HSBC and Nat west needed.
Shall I just respond saying you have the info you require...the clock is ticking, give the statements or I will report you.
AAAAHHHHH
