I suppose my question is, can a claim for financial hardship in retrospect?0
-
Does anyone know about this 'Credit Management System' company?
Apparently they only charge £49.99 and I would love to use them
I would be very grateful if someone could help me out!0 -
Guess what you get for £49.99? A set of template letters just like the ones on MSE.
So you can do it yourself for £49.99, or you can do it yourself for free. You decide.0 -
I started a new thread for this, but thought i'd copy and paste it in here too to see if i could find any info -
When i first found this website, i planned on reclaiming some of my charges from RBS, but they told me they don't do that at RBS unless it was a mistake on their part, so i decided against making a claim.
Recently however, i had a problem where i was charged £38 by my bank account for a bill that was to be taken out, however i'd already paid said bill by other means, but did not cancel the direct debit, so RBS told me to speak to Orange (who were the company the bill was being paid too) i spoke with them, and Orange said they would reimburse my Orange account, so that my next bill will be £X - the £38 they owe me. However, when i get a £38 charge from RBS, next time they charge me interest, they also stick another £28 charge on my account.
Am i able to reclaim any of these charges at all? This is not the first time i've had the £28 charge either, which means basically they charge me £38 and £28 for going over my overdraft.
Any help would be great. Thank you.0 -
Hi just a thought I HAVE 5k in charges from RBS.BUT THAT ACCOUNT WAS PART OF BANKRUPTCY. I AM DISCHARGED BUT CAN I CLAIM BANK CHARGES FOR THIS ACCOUNT.THANKS SILVmark0

Hi
I have sent the first letter to RBS reclaiming £2500 in bank charges.
They have responded following:
"We will resolve your complaint once the legal proceedings between the oFT and the banks are determined.
We can assure you we have registered and stored your complaint. Please retain your bank records, as this wil make it easier for you to support your complaint on resolution of the test case.
If you have any question, please check our website
rbs.co.uk/overdraftchargesupdate or call us on 0845 3030 442."
What are the next steps, should I send the second letter or file a claim?
Thanks0 -
Hi,
Please can someone help me. I am stuck!!
Asked for my statements and have gone through and highlighted all charges. I am not sure what I can claim for...
Here is an example of my statement...
05/01/02 ---Interest---£****
10/06/02----Charges---£30
12/06/02----Referral Charge ---£60
Sometimes the "Charge" is as low as £10 sometimes as high as £43.
Which of these can I claim for???
Also, my husband has just been made redundant and is now on income based Jobseekers allowance. I am intending on claiming via Hardship route but worried that RBS will remove our overdraft option as we will want this in the future when hopefully my husband goes back to work and we can get back to normal. What will happen if we claim hardship? We do need the money asap as we have 3 children including a newborn and only jobseekers to live on at the moment.
Thanks in advance

I think you have a packaged account such as a royalties account, which would explain the CHARGES bit increasing and decreasing. Referral fees are claimable. Can you check on the Royalties account bit?
They can't remove your overdraft on a hardship claim.0 -
Yes, its a Royalties Gold account, sorry I suppose I should have mentioned it, didnt realise it made a difference!!
So can I claim the increasing/decreasing "charges" amounts? There is no further description other than "charges".
Going boss eyed with this and trying to concentrate with 3 children under 7 is really hard.

What I am gonna do is try and find out or if need be, I'll write a guide to their fees since they are similar in terms of how they are taken out to NatWest.
I'll try and work out when the fees changed and then hopefully be able to work it out for you.
However, if you do not use the benefits of the Royalties Gold account then get rid of it as it is costing you money that you will not be able to claim.0
