Well its in at last. All £1027 of it!!! Thought I'd never see this day.I had to send a further fax after I was told today "it should be in". However it came true in the end. Here's the important bit for anyone wishing to pursue this way:
Head Office telephone num I used: 0207 672 1770(straight through) and fax number: 0207 672 1796 or 0131 523 5812 (or both if you're like me). Good luck to everyone else. My sole account is still on hold but wont give up after this. Happy friday to me!

Had you been given an offer before the annoucement of the test case?
Had you started Mycol Proceedings???
I started mycol two weeks ago... so far they have acknowledged and that's it.
I'm guessing it will get a 'stay' put on it... I know credit cards are different but Monument Credit card have put a 'stay' on anyone going to court so this test case is affecting all claims by the look of it. dammit!
I'm wondering if I should have just taken the offer of half - £135 but I said I'd accept as part payment - obviously didn't get that though so I think it's too late now anyway.
congrats on your win :beer:Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -
I've recently had 2 seperate charges of £38 for going over my overdraft. If i make an attempt to reclaim this money, would it be straight forward and probably accepted seeing as it's not as much as other figures i've seen thrown about on here?
I'm only asking coz i'm still (slightly) young, so £76 can go a long way for me and was a big chunk of my money they've nicked off of me.
Thanks for any help.0 -
I received a goodwill offer from Bank of Scotland yesterday for £4845 which is £594 less than I was reclaiming but hey at least they are offering.
Feel sorry for those just starting out on this road, the OFT announcement is really going to hold things up for them. I've been doing this since 14/04/07.
Not going to hold my breath for the money to arrive in my account but fingers crossed.
Didn't even get as far as court proceedings but they have messed me around loads, telling me that they have sent out letters 3 times and I haven't recieved any of them. I believe that they were just stalling 'till the

I have another claim in aswell for my sole account which according to RBS records I was due a reply to on the 8th August (after the test case). However I posted the letter through my branch internal mail on the 23rd May so according to my records give or take a couple of days for it to get there an outcome should have been with me on the 18th July. Its not my fault they didn't log it until 13th June!! So again watch this space!!Good luck to you. Persevere is my best advice and be firm but pleasant!

Provided that you have not done so before requesting charges back, ring your local branch and explain that it was an oversight on your part and that you are sorry blah blah blah and see if you can blag it back. If you are a serial offender, they will see it is most likely not an oversight so are less likely to co-operate. If you don't ask you don't get. If they don't pay up, log a claim. It could take up to a year but it's YOUR money and not theirs!!!!0 -

Choc, the FSA gave the banks 8 weeks from the day they log your claim to have come to a decision. The date on the standard reply letter should be the date you refer to. If that date + 8 weeks is before 26th July (case started on 27th) then I would consider trying to take further action as you should have been granted a yes or no by then. All offer letters coming out are for claims that were decided before the test case. They all have 2 months to decide wether to take it now or wait, possibly more than a year, and risk losing it all should the banks win. The latest on the test case should be posted at http://www.rbs.co.uk/Overdraft_Charges/default.htm
I see you started in February. You should have raised a complaint with the Information Comissioner in April. If your letter is dated 1st August, you are gonna have to wait until the case has finished, although I think that if you can prove that you are facing financial hardship (I don't know for definite how they would determine that though) then you can apply to have your case dealt with. You would have to research that in more detail. I might have read about it on Martin's STOP PRESS UPDATE on the home page. Look for FAQ's. Sorry not to be more help. If I find it, I'll post the link0 -

Hi there,
Basically i'm after some advice on how to deal with the situation i've found myself in. I started the process way back in march and to my amazement even with recorded delivery and the name of the person who signed for them they managed to lose the initial two requests for my money back. At this point i phoned the main office up andspoke to the manager of the claims department. she 'RELIABLY'??? informed me she would look after my case. They actually received the third letter. Then numerous phonecalls on my behalf later i was informed they had sent an offer letter out for the full amount, that would take 3 weeks to receive. This was the 1st june. Funny old thing the letter was not received, so i managed to contact the bank who apparently sent out a second offer letter.....YIP not received on the 3rd time of calling i spoke to my trusty old manager friend 'THANKS Kieran' and was told the 3rd offer letter was sent out and that no matter what had happened with the cases being suspended and all the offer would be honoured because of the duration of the claim. I can't believe i actually accepted this as the only letter i received was one saying the cases had been suspended from 3 days before that call was made. When i eventually managed to talk to my trusty caring manager after dozens of unanswered calls i was told that there is no information regarding my claim on the system. I'm absolutely fed up with being lied to and talking to the bank now is like hitting your head against a brick wall. Pls can anybody give me any advice other than to wait until the test trial??????   :mad:0
