Just one question, who do i take the action against? RBS Advanta or Mint as it is now known or against The Royal Bank Of Scotland?
I would say The Royal Bank of Scotland... If that's who the account was with... otherwise might confuse things.
A lot of companies have umbrella companies and if anyone wants to complain or start some kind of action they have to use the umbrella name not the main one... if that makes sense.
I've started mycol for RBS on Monday and I used RBS name - it was strange how all my letters said RBS then one of them said Mint on the letter head?!Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -
Ok...i'll address it to RBS Advanta then.
The letter i received appeared today with a Mint header as well.0 -

i was told it would be 6 - 7 weeks for a reply, that at the end of that they had another 2 weeks , so i waited , in wich time i phoned them only to hear that they had sent me an (OFFER) yeh right! , on the 17th july, they said it takes upto 10 working days to receive the letter i then phoned them on the 11th day saying i had not received a letter (they tried to blame the postal strike) and said a duplicate would be sent to me but in the mean time if i received the fisrt letter i could not act on it , i had to wait another 3 weeks for the duplicate to arrive it is now 19 working days since duplicate was suppose to be sent , yet still nothing , i phoned them today & was just givin the run around , a woman i spoke to told me she had just sent another request up to head office , i asked to speak to them directly or for a direct number and was refuesd , seen as though my offer was under there red tape line , dam where is this imaginary letter comming from (mars) , seems to me that RBS must stand for Really Bull-sh**ing sods:mad:
any new phone numbers or advise would be appreciated

Telephone this number: 0131 556 8555 and ask to be put through to the chief executive office. When they ask why? Say you have a concern that cant be dealt with by customer relations anymore as they cannot help you and you want to speak to someone senior. Ask them to fax you a copy of the letter. It worked for me in the end and I got the fax on Friday and I spoke to a girl this morning who said the money should be in my acct by wed/thurs at latest. Good luck with this;)
thanks very much , seemed to be more helpful + told me the amount , and also gave direct freephone number 0800 0155035 - option 1
i appreciate your help shamrock0 -
Got a reply to my claim on 160507. Hadn't heard anything so I chased them up on 170707. Spoke to girl who said they had posted me an offer which would take up to 10 working days to arrive. She claimed she couldn't say how much it was but reckoned it should arrive by Monday (230707) at the latest. Guess what? No show! Now I ring up and get told of this new court case and can't actually speak to anyone. I'm well !!!!ed off as I was clearly lied to and fobbed off - Anyone know if there's anything I can do about it?
Finally got to speak to someone who said the bank would be sending me a standard letter in response to the new court inquiry.
Got the standard letter and it included an offer! Offer was for £600 less than my full claim - I guess a bird in the hand.....
So I reckon I'll be taking this, unless anyone knows of any reason I should wait?
Good luck everyone who still has a claim in!0 -

Started my reclaims way back in February - took ages to get all my statements (some were in different branches) so didn't get to send of my request letter detailing charges (totalling over 2k) until 16 July. Got the standard letter re the test case dated 1st August.
Ok so I now have to wait even longer to hear what will happen - but do you reckon I should reply stating it was way back in February I got the whole process started and have been polite and patient meantime.... during which time they have repaid charges or do I just sit it out and wait in hope??
Advice appreciated !
Now you are getting letters with offers - am so confused?!! do I wait and wait and wait or push and push and push????? :rotfl:0 -
I am having a complete and utter nightmare with RBS. Not one person that works for them seems to know what the other is doing!!! I have faxed a massive complaint to the chief exec office this morning. After receiving and accepting an offer letter by fax from chief exec office (after a few tantrums over letter NO.2 not arriving) I was told by a girl in CRU that money should be in my acct by wed/thurs at latest. No money appeared yet and being cynical now I called to find out why??....
Turns out the case hasnt yet been logged for payout yet and therefore it will be 14 days FROM the day it is logged that I will get my money. What if they log it in a month!!!!!!!
All I know is I accepted an offer on the table on Thurs 26th July and sent it back, only to be told I had to sign a 2nd due to the test case which I did via fax and then post! 10 days was the payout date. That would've been 5th August. STILL NO MONEY. Will update you if a miracle happens.

P.s Any help, names or numbers would be greatly appreciated thanks!0 -
I have a date to go to court against the RBS.
The story: Had 2 accounts. Both overdrawn. One business and one personal.
They wrote to me months ago saying £145 o/s pay up.
I said what is this for?
They passed to debt collector who wrote to me saying £145 pay uo.
I wrote back to them and said please tell me what this is for?
They then wrote from another debt collection agency saying £290 pay up.
I wrote to them and said what is this for?
They have now taken me to court and the date is for 13th september.
What are my chances of winning and any advice as I have never denied owing any money on the account, but have asked what the amount is for on many occassions? Will this go in my favour that they have not replied or against me for not just paying?
Any advice how to handle from here would be appreciated. THANKS>0 -
Well I'm not going to get too excited yet.........but I spoke to a very helpful lady in the chief exec office at RBS who looked at my fax(after a prompting phonecall from myself) and assures me the money will be in my account tmos. She has spoken to the people concerned and if the CRU dont process it she is going to personally do it. I even have her office contact number. Watch this space!............................;)0
