I'd have to leave here at 6.40am to get to work in colchester at 9am costing £15.80 each way.

But I see this job starts at 8am so would have to leave here at 5.40am! Having to get up at 4am! LOL

Yea well, i dont know the area or the house or the distance for you.

Fact is, you wouldnt have looked twice at that job posting because you already assumed you dont have the experience by my mentioning it.

I was highlighting the fact that people should try and look at the job and read, read the job spec for jobs close to them and then have a good think as to whether you can or cannot do the job. Before jumping to conclusions.

Also, there is absolutely no harm in ringing them and mentioning the fact that colchester is too far, maybe they have something similar for you local?

It seems phone based anyway. Maybe they can put you up in an office closer to your home.

Folks, always be active and take the initiative.

Well for one I would not bee looking for a job where the montly travel costs near on £400 and would have to get out of bed at 4am and probably get home (when the shift ends at 8pm) sometime after 11pm then having to get up at 4am again.

I do not have the experience they are after so would never apply as I am wasting their time and mine.

I keep saying I am not looking for a job close to me but that's a bit far at 55 miles (110 there and back) on public transport for NMW or just above.

I do take the initiative. Emailed 56 companies today in London in the industry I used to work in.

    • Ability to assess information and make objective decisions
    • Satisfactory I.T. skills to be able to produce written assessments
    • Have excellent Verbal, Written and Understanding of English

Youre saying you dont have the above? Especially as youve worked as a supervisor before and you live on the computer ATM?

    Please.

Its law for them to use fancy words. Theyre asking for basic shi*t.

nope never worked as a supervisor (said I have supervised staff but don't make me a supervisor I'm afraid).

Stuck on the comp as looking for a job at the moment as didn't get to do any searching as spent 2.5 hours walking to Tesco and back today.

The amount of companies and agencies ive "emailed" in the past and do you know what happens?

    They dont get in touch.

So then i took it upon myself to ring every single one of them and speak to their HR department or whoever deals with applicants.

Do you know what they say?

"oooh errr, it must have got lost in my emails so sorry. Please send it again?"

    POINT?

Point being, get someone on the blower. Always. Let them know you have applied and emailed them and if they can check whether they have received you CV.

I bet you 90% will ask you to send it again whilst youre on the phone because they were to busy chatting and probably sent it to spam.
