I would agree that you should ask for more detailed feedback - it shows that you are genuinely keen to work for the specific company and demonstrates a willingness to learn and improve when given the opportunity, both qualities that most firms appreciate.

Maybe not the best of advice to follow? Interviewing people for employment isn't a personal vendetta and it is simply foolish to treat it as such. So what if you weren't the perfect candidate or the best interviewee this time? There is always the chance that you will be next time. If you turn your nose up at everyone who has ever refused you a job then sooner or later there won't be anyone left to work for.
they told me the job wasn't big enough for me so I see it this way, If I was not the right person for a junior role then I am not the right person full stop (he was hinting the other person may leave soon as they were no good).

There is every point to apply again.

In 90% of cases you employ the best person/people that you see and so you are really up against the other candidates more than anything else. A different role can be interviewed by a different person who has slightly different priorities and what was an ok answer to the previous interviewer could be an exceptional answer to the next one.
you are missing the point, I was the best he saw as he told me that and that the job was not big enough for me as I was used to doing a LOT more than this role even though it was paying £2k more and I could get there on a bus instead of travel all across London to get to it.

If they had another role there doing a more senior role I still would have been interviewed by the same bloke as he was the head of finance.

Purchase Ledger Assistant for a wine merchant in Essex.

I will never dumb down the CV as we have all talked about it on here before and what do you do in a job when someone asks something and you aren't meant to know how to do it or when someone says I will teach you that and you already know it! It's as bad as pretending you can do everything to pretend you can't.

    A) Why dont you try getting on TOWIE? LOL! :D

    B) You just listen and train with the person training you. How easy is it to just shut up and be quiet?

It comes down to simple maths. How desparate are you for a job?

You can then show how much you have progressed in a few weeks and be on par with everyone else. Thats a chilling job right there.

I guess you need some form of confidence and acting skills to do both of the above IE Get on TOWIE or pretend.

I think i will offer some CV advice for people on here. I dont trust the job centre to have done any good job.

Why should I pretend I can't do something? If they looked at where I have worked for the last 20 years they would ask me why I never learnt the things that are currently on the CV that you are saying I should pretend I do not know. My last salary would have never been paid to me if I couldn't do half the things I could and it reflects in my CV.

Also what would I know to take off the CV and how do you keep track of 100 different versions!

This doesnt apply to only the same roles youve worked as before. Lets say you want to work in a different sector for the sake of cash. You can easily melt your CV down a little.
Ok im not saying its that easy, might be harder to do the more experience you have. But if youve been off work for some time that can help!

What you do is, create FOLDERS on your desktop.

Label them as such for example -

    Call Centre CV
    Shop CV
    Bin Woman CV
    Etc Etc

You then amend the CV as such and label the CV shorthand like this -

CC CV - CC = Call Centre
    S CV - Shop
    BW CV - Bin Woman
    Etc Etc

Would you like me to take a look at your CV? Take off your personal details and just leave the other stuff.
