Sometimes called a hand throttle, But restricted range.
Had one on a lorry you could use it like cruise control. The problem was when you braked
it wouldnt slow down.
do you mean en richening lever or
throttle lever
spit it out buoy spit it out
for the record an old datsun 140y fastback i had had a manual throttle control like a choke control on it from the factory,no idea why mind0 -
^^ To be fair, the OP didn't state what the MPG was, only that it was lower than expected.......... If I expect 24mpg and get only 15, im going to be thinking something is wrong.
Also, the Impreza will have a much smaller fuel tank than your old car. My Vectra can take £75-£80 worth of unleaded. I doubt my mates Impreza can get anywhere close to that.... I think they have 50lt tanks, so that more like £65 from bone dry.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

In the second post the OP mentions weekly £50-70 (WRX) in fuel compared to £30 (Vectra)."Retail is for suckers"

OK, well thank you for your opinions. It seems like the Subabru just won't get the fuel economy I need. I'm annoyed because it even has a prodrive chip which is meant to improve economy?
We got it because it was the only estate the dealer had in our budget. The buggy was difficult to lift into the vectra and we thought an estate would be better, and it is better for that except it uses so much petrol!
Im going to look into ways of improving the economy. I phoned the dealer and they said they wouldn't take the car back because of that, they offered to buy it back but for £1000 less than we paid.sharpy2010 wrote: »Sorry mate, Scoobs are mentally expensive to run; I know this as I have one. Sounds tp me like you just wanted one because it looked a bit flash0 -

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately cars are not "real" assets (unless you drive a taxi or are a courier), they are real money pits.
You really need to weight this out, what's better in short/long term: £1000 hit now, or £150 a month for extra fuel over x number of months.
If you decide to get another car, just work out your budget and then shortlist a number of suitable cars.
And then by all means do use this forum to ask for opinions - there are numerous no B/S mechanics and car trade people here who can give some really good advice."Retail is for suckers"

My advice would be to check if the subaru is realy a pro drive, it should have a stamp in the boot or somewere.
Secondly they do drink fuel as they are turbo. I know this because I had a 2.5l lump and £30 would go in a few days, first I thought it was a faulty gauge.
DONOT LPG convert is as LPG works diffrently and combusts slowly, you are likly to blow the engine up with it, you will need to remap the ECU to accept the LPG.0 -
Buggy doesn't fit in a Vectra?? How big is your buggy??
Was your Vectra a saloon or something?0 -

I thought turbo's lend themselves to improved fuel economy, my petrol turbo golf is pretty damn reasonable on fuel at least hitting high 20s but more often low to mid 30s mpg.0
