Double well done then PLMBL, you're def giving me a kick up the backside!
It's a beautiful day here so there's no excuse for not going to the gym tonight. In fact, it would be better if I went for a run on the beach... I'm inspired now!Deposit £5880/£10,000Sparkle Challenge - Loose 1 stone 0/14lbs

Hi everyone, mind if I join you? Just found this thread and its a great idea, cant remember the last time I felt "sparkly"!
My biggest problem is that I am a full time carer so I am at home most of the time. There isnt much incentive to make yourself look nice when no-one sees you and I have lots of nice clothes that I hardly ever wear. I dont have money for a social life and thinking about it I cant remember the last time I got really dressed up for something! How awful is that.
On the weight side I am lucky because I am naturally fairly slim. BUT I am now the wrong side of 40 and need to keep working on it, the flab is always trying to creep up on me and its a constant battle to fight it off. Currently I am a few pounds over my ideal weight and as quickly as I lose a bit it goes back on again!
Well the sun is shining so I am going to get the bikes out and get myself and my son out for some fresh air!0 -
Hi everyone! Can I sneak in the back door and join you all too? Fabulous idea for a thread!!
I am on a weight loss drive at the moment too. Currently doing slimming world and joined a group at the end of January. I am not one for diets usually (love my food!) but saw some pics of me taken over Christmas looking larger than I was when I was 4 months pregnant and it gave me a kick up the bum to sort myself out!! Have managed to loose 16lbs so far and have got 9.5lbs to go to get to my target weight. Need keeping on the straight and narrow at the moment as I am finding it all too easy to stray off track!!
Its not all about weight though. Want to smarten myself up a bit and put a little more effort into my wardrobe (MSE style of course!). Fed up of feeling like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards!! I seem to have lost time for me since having my 2 boys, but as my youngest starts school in Sept I have no excuse really!!
Plan to have a good read of the thread later tonight. Taking my eldest to Beavers this evening for his first session. :cool:0 -

Hi Moneywaster-nomore
I'm not dieting, though maybe I should, I'm just looking for some general overall improvements - feeling better about about myself and hopefuly get fitter, plus of course adding the pennies to the sparkle fund. I think I'm going to save all mine until Christmas to have a proper treat!0 -

Someone happened to mention wanting to lose a stone in May on another challenge, a lot of others seemed interested in doing the same so the Challenge has moved over here to the Sparkle thread as its better suited hereBuild your own dreams ~ or someone will hire you to help build theirs

I'm feeling a bit sparkly as I've cleared 2 big bags of clothes and bags for the charity shop. I might not look any better for it, but as I can now see the clothes that still fit, rather than having to wade through everything, maybe I'l wear more of what I've actually got.
I remember seeing something about women wearing 10% of their clothes 90% of the time and the remaining 90% of clothes stay at the back of the wardrobe for the occasional 10% of airings. I mean to change mine and wear the nice things - and not just save them for 'best'! As the advert says, I'm worth it!0 -

Well done on the swimming - I can usually only manage 20!
I've also discovered I have over 50 pairs of footwear, mostly old but some never worn. I think that I'd better have a good clear out of those too!0
