  • Eating salad - not feeling sparkly! But getting thinner!
  • Well done everyone on the healthy eating, exercising & giving up smoking :T YOU ARE ALL MARVELLOUS!!!

I've decided to do a WEEKLY sparkle plan as I can't seem to find time for anything that takes more than 3 mins during the weekday. Am in total admiration of those of you who can...

Did loads of cleaning today, washed & conditioned hair and used my luxury face mask, so will give myself one more star :) Have also tidied up my lotions & potions collection (lots of freebies from hotels etc included), so will be steadily using up this stash until it runs out. I reckon I have about six months worth of mini shower gels/shampoos alone! Don't travel much these days, so might as well clear the excess. Will, of course, put all the tiny plastic bottles into the recycling bin. Terrible waste of plastic, really.

Next challenge - tackle my jewellery collection (I own lots of stuff I never wear!) then I can chill out for the day.

  • Can't remember last time I bought a ready meal, healthy or otherwise! I meant more the buying of fresh meat and fresh veg. Which then as a single person I have to eat every day for a week so it don't go off :rotfl:

I know what you mean. Fresh meat & veg can get so expensive, so I just try to eat less. I'm 'experimenting' with different salads at the moment. Trying to eat as much raw stuff (cucumber, apples, tomatoes) as possible, combined with nuts, seeds, cheeses & the odd bit of ham/chorizo etc. There's virtually no cooking involved, so it's amazingly quick to just throw everything together. Each time, I do a different combination (different cheese/variety of tomatoes) so it seems less boring. Plus, the bright colours make it look more appetising. I allow myself huge portions (minimal carb), cos it's salad after all! Honestly didn't think food planning would require so much brain power :rotfl:

ps. I also have a weakness for tinned unsalted sweetcorn - it's just as nutritious as the fresh stuff, so why not?!

    ah I see.

Try buying veg and fruit at local greengrocers or Lidl/Aldi/Morrisons they tend to have good discounts on fruit and veg. If you get to knw your local greengrocers, they tend to slip you extra stuff for the same price, or offer items cheaper ;)

don't buy so much meat, alternate with more veg style dinners.

Buy items and freeze them, when they are being sold reduced, if you have a freezer.

have you tried old style for more help on eating healthily cheaply?

Okay please count me in here. I haven't read the whole thread yet but I need to shift some weight. AT LEAST half a stone. Would love a stone but I think I may just need toning as I have a very wobbly belly after having my son. It's not really fat just wobble if you know what I mean?

    Must start exercising more

    Hey Everyone,

Not been around for a while :o, I've not been very sparkly lately. Planning on turning that around though :)

I've ordered the SW starter pack, hopefully it should be here soon. I've been trying to read up about it online so I'm really looking forward to starting it. Some [STRIKE]crazy[/STRIKE], ahem, ambitious people ;):p, have suggested trying to lose a stone in a month, so I'm going all out in May :j

Until now, I've been adding £1 to the sparkle pot for every 30 mins of exercise I do, so I think I'm going to carry that on but will aim for a certain amount over May - maybe £20-25? Will figure it out tomorrow :)

Haha, I'd stick with 'crazy' :rotfl:

I lost a stone in a month once (think it was a month and 2 days to be honest ) but that was before I had 2 children and I had a 4 week trial pass to the gym up the road, so I was walking there in the morning, going for a swim, then a work out, most days  Did a few classes when they took my fancy as well, and was doing an aerobics dvd at home :o
Sometimes even more swimming or machines late afternoon.
And I was doing catalogue delivery, all on foot, whilst otherwise unemployed, so was basically exercising all the time because I had the time to. And because it was in the summer I just ate tonnes of salad with a bit of grilled chicken or salmon etc. Oh, and ice pops :rotfl:

Goodness, how different things are now. No time to do proper exercise, and even walking isn't real exercise anymore for me as I dawdle everywhere now so my 2 year old can keep up, or get the bus so he doesn't get bored stuck in the pushchair if we're going further or are in a rush. Can't even run around in the park with him all that much as have the baby in the pushchair to take into consideration as well now.

OH is trying to be supportive and has said that he will do surveys/ebaying/swagbucking etc on the computer in the evenings if I'm on the exercise bike as that's the only time I've got really to do proper exercise, but if I try I usually just end up thinking that I should be online instead earning :o :money:
