More than I can manage in a YEAR...you must be seriously fit
Sunflower girl x
Thanks Sunflower girl, but no, I'm seriously unfit! With a spinal injury, heart condition and asthma I have to keep stopping! I only managed 20 lengths last night as I arrived late, but everyone else there puts me to shame, but at least rather than my 'doggy paddle on my back', I managed half my distance with proper backstroke, and grief, I'm paying for it today :rotfl:
Keep up all the sparkling everyone :T This is the one place I feel motivated by everyone! xx0 -

I would love to join, I really do need to regain/find my sparkle. most of the time I look ill, white as a sheet with spots (although they have been better recently) and I am over weight. by about 45 pounds. have been for years.
I have also been single for ages and have 0 confidence with men.
I have joined a gym and been going about twice a week, it makes me feel better but hasn't had much of an impact on the weight etc.
Today I pledge to buff my nails! how exciting is that!
I am starving now so need breakfast
Buffy xx
Welcome Buffy!
Well done on your gym work!
I can identify with most of your post (esp. the single bit! But I tend to do the opposite & am over-confident with men... probably not a strategy for success :rotfl:)
I've neglected my appearance for decades - despite a wealth of lotions & potions lying around the house, looking good is such hard work & I've just been too lazyuntil now. So, maybe we can use this thread to spur ourselves on - and discover our inner FABULOUSNESS?! I'm sure it's just 'temporarily' hiding somewhere...
Hope you enjoyed your first sparkling challenge.
My achievement this week so far: I wore a dress instead of the usual boring trousers!

Well done Buffy on joining the gym, it's the first step. Hopefully the thread will give you some inspiration. Make sure to get a good program from the gym if you can it's normally included and ask them loads of questions about diet too, just take advantage of their knowledge, the gyms cost enough to join the least they could do is give free advice a little bit. But if you really need spurring on then if there's personal trainers see if any are offering a free taster session, they're always good for a push and some new ideas, just be prepared to say it's not for you when they try the hard sell at the end.
I sparkled all week and last week, last weeks reward was a jigsaw (which was missing a piece  so I am a piece short of a jigsaw which says it all) This weeks reward was some new running headphones which I needed as they kept falling out my ears and only one worked. But I'm afraid I may now have shin splints  which is my worst nightmare as I've always avoided them and know the frustration of others with them. I did manage a 3.5 mile run this morning tho at 6.30 in the freshness. And taking the dogs up that cheese rolling hill after I've trained someone will kill me.

Another 22 lengths at the pool tonight, so now I'm shattered! Is this really doing me some good?? :rotfl:
I was very surprised to be complimented on my backstroke - something which really cheered me up.
Now well and truly moisturised from top to toe and collapsed on the sofa.
Thanks everyone for giving me the inspiration to keep plodding on, :T0 -

On the fitness regime: has anyone tried skipping? I've been told it's supposed to be both effective & economical...

Hey Everyone,
Sounds like some of you are doing really well! :T
I've got £4 to add to my pot - £3 for exercise and £1 from pampering myself the other day. I don't usually add anything for things like that, but I did quite a lot - long bath, manicure, pedicure, eyebrows, etc - so I think I earned it, lol.0
