roses wrote:Hi, I have been a member for 4 weeks now. Has anyone else found that the first two weeks start off brilliantly? Rentals received the next day as being posted at both ends. I had a turnaround of 6 per week. Now something has suddenly happened & it takes 2-3 days for them to receive the dvds I send back. I am only getting 3 discs per week now. Also they receive the discs back at different days even though I am posting them at the same time in the same post box.
I am a little suspicious that they are witholding the discs to stop a fast turnaround. I really don't think it is the post office as all other things I post to various other problems get there the next day.
First two weeks were fine and fast, then I had a problem and they agreed to credit me for each day they failed to send me out a disc after they had received my viewed ones. That resulted in a few days of credit and then the returns started to take around a week to process.
Appears that there is a unwritten code at Lovefilm limiting customers to 3 discs per week regardless of your package. They appear to manage this by not processing your return on time, choosing to blame the royal mail for the delay. Doing this would also avoid crediting customer accounts for each day they fail to send out a disc. I have mailed discs from several locations at several differnet times of day (I've even gone to the local sorting office and mailed from there) and the discs all seem to mysteriously get delayed and arrive at Lovefilm altogether exactly one week later.
Use the free trial/promotion and ditch em!0 -
Yep, that's what I plan to do. Once my 3 month trial is up I plan to try Screen Select as they are the only people who were consistently good throughout my trial period of 6 weeks.0

same here, i`ve tried all the free trails and i really thought i`d found the one to stay with (love film ) not a chance now though, i will cancel when the time comes, but in my experience blockbuster was the best for me !!0

Yes same here too... I have tried ScreenSelect before and I thought they were OK.... three DVD's a week for me is no good..as I often get a mix of DVD's...Adult...music...kids... so within a day or two we send them back and look forward to the next batch... which is increasingly a week later0

Anyone got the winners list (for the player?)...Life should not be taken seriously, as no one would get out alive0

Oops. Know I've written about LoveFilm before but not sure where. But I took up their offer of 3 months for the price of 1. Offer was 11.95 which works out at £1 a week. Can't moan at that. And, dare I say it, no probs with them at all."When you want something said, ask a man.
When you want something DONE, ask a woman" - Margaret Thatcher0 -
Surprise, Surprise... the DVD's that I sent back nearly a week ago were "received" by them yesterday... but despite have over 40 movies queued they have sent out the next batch yet....
I won't stay with Lovefilm....thats for sure.0 -

That was quick, on this latest 3for1 trial, my last lot of DVD's still have not arrived with them after 13 days.
Customer support just keeps tell me to wait and they will arrive, so not had any DVD's from them for nearly 2 weeks!
The discs mailed back to blockbuster at the same time all arrived the very next day, and they despatched the next tiltles in my lists straight away.
Lovefilm are deffo pulling a fast one with this trial, and as you can imagine I will be cancelling my subscription pronto (better give them 2 weeks notice to give them time to sit on my discs for 2 weeks or so or they will bill me again!)0 -
I e-mailed them outlining how great they were at the start and how slow they are now. They insisted that they have looked back over my rental history and i am definately getting a film sent out the day it gets returned !!!!! and that they are "in talks" with royal mail to sort it. I dont think it is Royal mail, but them holding onto the films.
i sent a film back on Monday, still hasnt shown as returned, so that`s all bank holiday weekend with no new films.
They definately are pulling a fast one and i would cancel, if i wasnt on the free trial0
