As others have said what a poor service. Return DVDs on a Monday and get new ones on Friday and even when returned together they stagger the days so they are not all returned together for some reason. Then this week they eventually showed the ones posted as being returned Friday and didn't bother to send any out. At the rate they are going it should have been advertised as buy one month and get only this calue spread out over three months.Nice to save.0

OK, it's not the end of the world as it's only a movie rental but I think that a company should look after it's members - and I believe that if you can't offer service, then get out of the business.
I have reported Lovefilm to watchdog (yes its a TV program only interested in 'good stories') but feel that a bit of adverse publicity might make them rethink their procedures rather than blaming everything on the mail system.-
The only way we will get them to look at this is if a few of us report the problem,

Please let them know of your problems and hopefully we will then get a 'real' response from Lovefilm" He who knows does not speak. "He who speaks does not know. Lao-tzu Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)

"You are not currently renting any DVDs.
We will ship the next available DVD in your queue as soon as possible."Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
I e-mailed them again some time last week, outlining my disgust and that when my free trial was up i would go else where....here is their reply...
Thank you for writing to us at LOVEFiLM.
We are very sorry to hear that your service has been disrupted due to discs not being sent to you.
We are currently experiencing delays in receiving stock orders from our suppliers and hope to have this resolved within the next week.
In order to ensure that you are not inconvenienced any further, we have suspended your billing until such time as we are able to fulfill your total disc allocation. This means that you will not be charged for any day where you have not been provided with the full service, due to stock shortages and any discs you may have during this period are being provided free of charge.
This is a temporary measure only and we are working to resolving it as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Since this email, i received 3 whole DVDs in one go, plus i sent one back yesterday, just checked and my next one is being processed.
They obviously are having problems their end, but if you are as annoyed as i was, then i would suggest a few e-mails to them.
Good luck0 -
This is getting ridiculous now. They received 3 back on Tuesday morning & have only sent me 1 disc out of a queue of 31!
If they are having problems then they should limit the number of members they subscribe, not take on more!
They obviously underestimated the response their offer got. Now that Screen Select have also offered the same, I really hope SS don't end up going down the same way as I plan to take a paid subscription with them after Lovefilm as they were the best during my 6 week trial I had with them.0 -
I just found this post and I am so glad. I've been a member with them for over a month now and joined up after the free trial because they were so good. I think they are having problems as they have too many members because the service I get is really erratic. Some weeks I get more than 3 DVDs and some weeks I don't get any! Emails to customer service are ok but as someone posted their phone number I might phone them up to have a whinge. I complained about one of my DVDs being scratched and they extended my billing date by 3 days (even though I told them that it had to be sent back three times!). Have just sent them another email threatening to cancel, let's see where it gets.0

at 1st i tought they were exellent i was getting around 4 or 5 dvds a week. i sent a 2 dvds back on saturday they got it today monday shows on my account that they got the 2 dvds sent back and guess what they dont send me my other 2 when i have around 50 dvds in my list. What rubbish they have gone. i am on the 3 for the price of 10

I am also on the 3 for for the price of 1 deal and the service is terrible. I am lucky if I get 3 dvds a week and even then they are sent out one at a time. It is very disappointing as I had been with them before and they were excellent. I am also with screen select on their 2 for 1 deal and so far they have been very good.0

Dealseek wrote:First two weeks were fine and fast, then I had a problem and they agreed to credit me for each day they failed to send me out a disc after they had received my viewed ones. That resulted in a few days of credit and then the returns started to take around a week to process.
Appears that there is a unwritten code at Lovefilm limiting customers to 3 discs per week regardless of your package. They appear to manage this by not processing your return on time, choosing to blame the royal mail for the delay. Doing this would also avoid crediting customer accounts for each day they fail to send out a disc. I have mailed discs from several locations at several differnet times of day (I've even gone to the local sorting office and mailed from there) and the discs all seem to mysteriously get delayed and arrive at Lovefilm altogether exactly one week later.
Use the free trial/promotion and ditch em!0 -
