Ahh, now I have a very funny vision of GR trying out the OKO for personal use.......:p
oh, a knock at the door, who can this be? A large tabby cat......0 -
Wow, some of these figures are frightening. I'm very lucky in that our three dogs are nto fussy eaters and none have any health problems (touch wood). So on the food side of things they're relativelt cheap, grazing on Dr Johns Silver at £10 a bag which lasts them all about twoweeks.
The fussy eaters are my DD rats, who will only eat completely fresh veg!
Having said that all that, a word of warning. DD started taking her border collie Fly to Flyball for a bit of fun, and to get her out meeting more people. A money saving way of having a fantastic time.......thats is until she qualified for the finals at Crufts this year.:rotfl:
I have just sat down and calculated the costs, it works out at £31 a minute for her 11 minutes of fame:eek::eek:.
All the same I can't begrudge her (or Fly) this opportunity as she has always asked for so little.
Anyone going to Crufts on Friday, go and watch the Flyball at 1.30, its amazing. And don't forget to cheer on the Teesdale Tornadoes:T:TLight travels faster than sound - that's why you can see someone who looks bright until they open their mouth.0 -

.. and he is back now... all nicely fed with a box of take away food "for later"
Looking at BARF, looking at freezers.....Hmmmmmm
Waiting for the OkoPlus to let the CATS test it.
Waiting for the Skinners 15kg bag (just got despatch confirmation) of "Salmon and Rice"
Zara still suspicious BUT ate it yesterday and today...
The kibbkle size is different shape/size to Orijen - more square and bigger, Orijen is smaller and oval shaped flat pellets, Skinners is cubes.. may be something to do with that?
But she is eating it so....
Nice size samples, got 600g samples in 4 bags 150g each so this is almost 2 days food for Zara but 2 of the bags are lamb and she won't touch it, will go to the neighbour, her dog is not fussy like my one LOL0 -
BD- wishing your daughter and the dog a big win0

Update - 4 indoor cats and a GS dog
Dog:
Zara's food 25per month (Skinners, 15kg bag, Salmon and Rice from Vet UK))
Zara's insurance 47 per month
Zara's dog walker 230 per month
Zara worming 1.40 (4.10 per tablet every 3 months, Drontal XL from Animed Direct)
Zara's flea treatment 2.85 (£11.40 for 4 Advantage from Animed Direct)
Zara's Salmon Oil 12 (£24 for 1000ml bottle that lasts 2 months from Zooplus)
Zara's Ester C 10 (3x60 tablets for £20 at Boots, Zara has 3 per day so lasts 2 months)
Total Zara (no treats, leads, collars etc as those are one offs) = £328.25
4 Cats:
Cats dry food - no idea at the moment as got a lot at home
Cats wet food 13.50 for 30 tins of Clasic (Asda), 1 tin per day between them plus 37.50 for 3x12 tins of Animonda Carny again 1 tin per day between them (Zooplus)
Cats insurance 44 per month
Cats litter 25 per month (40 litres of Oko Plus from Zooplus-fingers crossed a 40 litre bag will last a month)
Cats flea treatment 9.50 per month (rAdvantage from Animed Direct)
Cats worming roughly 3.50 per month (Drontal from Animed Direct every 3 months)
Cats total (without dry food) = £129.50
Pets total per month £457.75 (plus cat's dry food)
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
From that, just the food isaround a £100 as £76 now but there is no dry cat food in it so lets say £100 per month on food for 4 cats and a dog - going to look at BARF feeding.....see how much would that work out.0 -
I say indoor cats as they only pee/poo in their trays - never outside ... sighhhhhh
They will spend most part of the day outside and run into litter trays as soon as I bring them back in... little !!!!!!s grrrr0 -
It's shocking when you see it all in black and white isn't it! I don't want to add mine up lol, I have a springer spaniel on wainwrights, he has a sensitive stomach and is ok with this but isn't putting on any weight and he really needs to so I might try another food - very worried about him being ill with it though.
My 2 cats are on purely wet and applaws dry and then my 3 chickens have basic layers pellets and corn. It's all the other things that add up like sawdust, grit, flea/worm treatments, toys:rotfl:.
I've just booked a bargain Butlins holiday for £230 but it's going to cost me £150 for someone to look after all the animals!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0
