My Holika Holika Essential Petit BB Cream arrived and the verdict is that it's just a little bit darker (peachier) than my normal 'Moisture' version of it. The Essential is also not as 'glowy' looking. Still great though, especially for a natural daytime look that's a little bit more matte with a good spf so I will still use it up. Might try Holika Holika Peach Girl next although I'm really tempted by their lovely cat blushers :-)
Now that lots of people have a real BB cream, it might be a good idea to learn how best to apply it. I've tried a dry sponge, damp sponge, flat brushes, foundation brushes, fingers, stippling brushes and the best way is definitely with your fingers. However, don't just spread it around as it won't look great. For some reason, it goes on perfectly if you kinda lightly pat it into your skin. This video illustrates that a bit but I'm actually a bit rougher and tend to lightly 'slap' it in once I've dotted it around my face. It's amazing what a difference it makes applying it in this way. You might get a similar effect from a 'Beautyblender' sponge too as this bounces off the skin in the same way - seems to 'fill in' pores better this way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4_U1FOcCeQ
I'm tempted to try the Holika Holika All That BB Cream next. It's their 'high end' one apparently and bellogirl recommends it for dryer skin.
The blushers are cute aren't they
I'm quite tempted to try the honey sleep packs now too lolIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

I have tried a few now & I find Smashbox is the best by far. It's quite expensive for everyday wear (unless you already spend a lot on face makeup anyway).
My mum had bought it & give me a sample of hers. I put bb creams on with a stppling brush, & the Smashbox one goes on the skin well & gives good smooth coverage.
This exclusive to QVC UK and they are discontinuing Smashbox in a few months it seems. Not in stock now anyway. Smashbox is pulling out of the UK, been the buzz all over the beauty boards for months. The staff at Debenhams counters where given notice in February.
I got to try the Missha no23 which I thought would be too dark but its a weird colour and after 30 seconds morphs into my skin tone and totally invisible.
I actually bought the Signature M version which has natural ingredients. I have rosacea so prefer to be careful even thought I tried the original Missha and it was fine.
Now the thing the Western versions do not seem to have PA as well as spf. The pa gives more sun protection.
I treat it as a tinted moisturizer and you need to pat these in not rub or apply with a brush.
I got mine from ebay and it came from Korea in 7 days less time that things ordered from QVC!!!!0 -
I was sent the BRTC Jasmine water bb cream (in purple tube) from a friend in Hong Kong and really like it. It's the only bb cream I have tried apart from that awful stuff from Garnier which I don't think constitutes as a proper bb cream.0

Hi all,
I really want to try one of the Korean BB creams but I'm keen to avoid any of permanent whitening ones as I'm concerned about long term effects!
Can anyone advise me on which of the creams have permanent whitening effects?? I've been looking at the Missha M Perfect Cover on eBay and can't see any mention of whitening..........
Thanks in advance0 -

Hi, what skin colour are you?
After looking around, I assume I would need Missha no.23, but finding foundations/concealers/tinted moisturises in my skin tone is almost impossible! Yet, I found the Garnier BB in light was just perfect. I would love to try the asian BB creams, and I prefer higher spf anyway.
Cheers!0 -
I am a MAC NC20,
Bobbi Brown Warm Ivory
Armani Silk 4
I thought I would be 21 but it was described as pink toned and I didn't fancy that so went for the 23. It looks really dark when I first applied it but as I said seemed to suddenly blend into my skin tone perfectly.
Never tried any of the western versions of BB creams0 -

My Missha #21 came a few days ago. I'm impressed with it but I think I will try the patting method rather than my normal slap it on way! So glad I read this thread.0
