The more I look at myself, the more I dislike the MUA. I looked for the Holika Holika online and can see it on Amazon for $6 - the issue is the colour.

Then I saw this for the Holika Holika colour changing cream online - I think I'll stick with my usual foundation tbh! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I got my Holika Holika on ebay (the one in a peach tube-not a colour changing one),think it was £6 or £7 and although it's a little darker than my fair skin I have to say it's lovely :) And I'm usually a MAC and Lancome girl for foundation but love this tbh.

I can imagine it's quite a nightmare with tanned skin with Asian BB creams as they do love fair skin don't they lol

If you would like to try though,if you emailed one of the sellers they may be able to help with getting the right colour?

It's definately a money saver for me,as many pale skinned people are,I'm prone to dry or sensitive skin at times and also dark circles (blast you paleness grrr) but I honestly don't need anything under or on top of this,so given the price I pay for foundation and concealer for decent ones in colours I can actually wear,it'll save me quite a bit:T

One thing I will say though,is the asian BB creams I've now tried don't need a moisturiser and certainly don't need foundation over the top or concealer. They do look incredibly natural so are best for daytime and muted make up I guess, just need to avoid the whitening ones really.
Disagree; it totally depends on your skin. I have bad acne and even with the Asian creams I've tried there's no way on this planet I'd be going out without concealer on as well. It's all very well to say "you don't need concealer" with them if thanks to your good complexion you wouldn't need concealer no matter what product you used...!
I agree that you definitely don't need any extra foundation though :)

Oh I have no idea about acne and certainly wasn't posting considering that -more the uses I'd want for it.They cover dark circles just fine though -a god send :)

if anyone does find one that is suitable for olive skin, please can they let me know

I have tried the Garnier one in Medium and it is a bit light for me.

    thanks
  • The Smashbox camera ready bb cream is really amazing to be honest.

I have tried a few now & I find Smashbox is the best by far. It's quite expensive for everyday wear (unless you already spend a lot on face makeup anyway).

My mum had bought it & give me a sample of hers. I put bb creams on with a stppling brush, & the Smashbox one goes on the skin well & gives good smooth coverage.

How much is it? Presumably if it goves good coverage, you don't use foundation on top?

I've just jumped on the band wagon and am going to try one of these. I have gone for a repairing one and hope it sorts out my skin. I am going to look into these for DD for when she starts wanting to wear more make-up so that we don't have continued arguments about too much slap :D

I don't think you need to use a foundation with it. I have quite patchy skin & it covers well.

I think it's £20 +. Not too sure as it was my mam who bought it.

I do highly recommend Missha BB cream (no. 23). I use it just as foundation and it provides a very good coverage.:j

My Holika Holika Essential Petit BB Cream arrived and the verdict is that it's just a little bit darker (peachier) than my normal 'Moisture' version of it. The Essential is also not as 'glowy' looking. Still great though, especially for a natural daytime look that's a little bit more matte with a good spf so I will still use it up. Might try Holika Holika Peach Girl next although I'm really tempted by their lovely cat blushers :-)

Now that lots of people have a real BB cream, it might be a good idea to learn how best to apply it. I've tried a dry sponge, damp sponge, flat brushes, foundation brushes, fingers, stippling brushes and the best way is definitely with your fingers. However, don't just spread it around as it won't look great. For some reason, it goes on perfectly if you kinda lightly pat it into your skin. This video illustrates that a bit but I'm actually a bit rougher and tend to lightly 'slap' it in once I've dotted it around my face. It's amazing what a difference it makes applying it in this way. You might get a similar effect from a 'Beautyblender' sponge too as this bounces off the skin in the same way - seems to 'fill in' pores better this way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4_U1FOcCeQ
