I wish I could let myself buy an LK Bennett dress though. Just once...
If you are anywhere near one of the LK Bennett outlet stores then you may find a pretty frock at a more affordable price. There's one at Cheshire Oaks and one at Gloucester Docks and I'm pretty sure there are more.
I think they also have a sale/outlet section on their website too!0 -
A lot of cheap cleaning supplies, like cloths, rubber gloves, scrubby sponges. Whenever I buy the cheapest they fall apart sometimes during first use, buy the middle of the range item and they last as long as I want them too.
90% of items from poundland. It's either poor quality and breaks quickly or you can get it cheaper elsewhere (such as the paracetamol) And seriously who trusts bulk packs of pregnancy tests for £1?0 -
Cheap pens and pencils.
If you need to do a lot of writing for work, cheap pens and pencils waste so much time, end up getting binned before running out and are not comfortable to write with.
Better off spending a bit more, using a pen such as a Staedtler stick instead of some knock off Biro.
Staedtler are my favourite pens too - I'm a bit of a biro snob! The cheaper ones just aren't as nice to write with.Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be0 -

I buy lots of items from Poundland which are very good value. Gift bags and other stationery items. The pregnancy tests are the same as the more expensive ones and just as accurate.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I'm the opposite. The 'middle of the road' ones tend to break quickly, but the cheapo all-metal one we got from somewhere like Argos or Tesco 8 plus years ago is still fine!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -

I've bought several in home bargains for 89p and they have all been correct; the only time it came back positive was when I was in fact pregnant.:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
On that note I had 3 pregnancy tests done over the course of a few weeks in a doctors surgery - all came back negetive.

Many things it's worth paying a bit more for. However, I really like the idea of swapping down a brand that is mentioned here often and seeing how you like it as many cheaper things are good, but also think it's worth trying the more expensive things too as some work out much cheaper and sometimes work better.
Face wash is a very good example, I used to get through lots of tubes of middle of the range stuff and didn't have very clear skin either. Now I spend about £10 on a bottle of the green vichy gel and it comes with a pump that dispenses tiny amounts that go a long way, so it lasts about 6 months with daily use and I have really clear skin now as well. Same for shampoo, the expensive stuff goes a long way as you can use tiny amounts compared to the cheaper stuff. Working out what is the right amount to use of anything is important to figuring out what value for money anything is.0
