  • I find method w-u-l is doing a grand job- better than ecover stuff.

With regard to loo rolls, I have been buying Triple Velvet on offer, but find that we rattle through the stuff at a rate of knots due to OH using what he feels to be the 'correct' number of sheets. When it's 2 ply stuff it lasts a reasonable amount of time but this is a third thicker, hence fewer sheets on the roll, and he still uses the same amount. I'm tempted to buy him some value rolls to make the point....
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Cheap bras if you have big boobs. I once brought one from Asda, wore it once and the strap broke while I was wearing it!

OMG yes! And bikinis. My friends laughed on holiday at my £40 scaffolding but they wouldn't have laughed if I popped out of a £10 matalan jobby!

I've found saucepans and bakeware bought cheaply are a false economy! cheap pans (especially non stick) dont last long! cheap non stick pans are the worst! the surface comes off after a few washes and even worse comes off in your cooking!
I buy one saucepan at a time now - and it probably costs me twice what you would pay for a set! I think its an investment - they will outlast me and I wont be fishing black bits out of my food!

I agree with this. Also knives and some other kitchen stuff. I invested in microplane graters - didn't dare tell OH what they cost. They are worth every penny.

As I now have enough clothes, I am investing in a few pieces of more expensive stuff. Most of what I buy at the mo are "labels" from ebay or charity shop. I have promised myself one or two more expensive "pieces" this year but not more than that. I wish I could let myself buy an LK Bennett dress though. Just once...

Cheap can openers. Bought loads before I got a brabantia that has lasted for years.

I'd never heard of LK Bennett so I went and had a look. Very nice, I like and I want. :D This is supposed to be a money-saving board yet all I ever seem to do is find things that I lust over!
