I bought a digital camera for £10 from a supermarket once, thinking that i couldn't go wrong for £10. Biggest waste of £10 ever!

Bin bags, washing-up liquid, loo roll are all false economy when bought cheap. Another one: work shoes. Cheap ones are no bargain.

Anything other than fairy liquid is a total waste of money

Anything from Primani! It's known as disposable fashion for a reason. I'm also with the comments about poor quality toilet rolls. Food-wise there is little that I would go out of my way to buy branded. A Which? quality award does influence me though, and I've bought goods from Aldi and Lidl (such as washing up liquid) for the quality mark in particular.

    Excellent thread idea btw!

Cheap loo roll seems to get used up in record breaking time, I agree with the rubber gloves too. Cheap sanitary towels and cheap lip balms aren't very effective

I find Morning Fresh WUL really good, the purple one smells lovely.

I did this too. It was one of those tiny ones that are about the size of a matchbox. It was impossible to get a clear picture as it was really sensitive to unsteady hands, and the driver software CD-ROM was warped and didn't work.

Another of mine would be the cheap mini sewing machine that was impossible to thread. The manual failed to help much as it was in 'chinglish'.I tried on and off for awhile then gave up and bought an old Singer.

Tesco's value rubber gloves don't last very long at all BUT then I bought the Daisy brand from Tesco (you get 3 pairs in a pack), they are also cheap but very good quality and have lasted over 2 weeks without going thin or "sticky" - I am still on the first pair and they feel the same as when I first wore them. Sometimes you just have to shift brand but stay in the same price bracket.

I too agree bin bags ,washing up liquid (I have used fairy for the past 50+ years) and loo rolls I get mine from Iceland at 4 for a quid and they are quilted and very good value though I won't but the Adre% ones as I just think you are paying for the adorable puppy dog adverts.I don't like cheap envelopes either as often they need sellotape to seal them

I use Tesco value bin bags and they have been fine. The only things going in the bin are plastic wrappers.

Agree with sanitary towels and tampons, washing powder, washing up liquid although it doesnt have to be Fairy, Morning Fresh is fine too.
