Well I have managed no spending for 4 days :) ... well apart from the monthly DD bills but these come out themselves so don't count them.
I've still got loads in the freezer so hoping I can stretch it out a bit longer too !

Gonna have movie night with the boys on Friday as i fancy a superhero movie and we have loads of sweets in still ... then early to bed Saturday ready to work the car boot on Sunday.

I'm so proud to not spend anything for 4 days ... I keep telling people but i think they think I'm nuts (its only f&f though so don't mind)

Hi All, Im going to give this a go as I seriously need to make some savings somewhere and we seem to fritter a huge amount of our income (after bills) away on food, coffee's, popping back and forth to the shops and coming out £20 lighter etc. I don't have much in the freezer or cupboards as I've ran them down over recent months so I'm going to try for just 5 days initially. I do have bits and bobs in, but did a teeny shop this morning of milk, bananna's and strawberry's and some warburtons thins for packed lunches (no bread in the freezer at all). If I can get to the stage where I can shop for 7-10 days and stay away from the shops in between I will be over the moon.

I've raided the cupboard and found some jelly which Ive made up in individual pots for 7yr old DS's pack ups. I also found a sponge cake mix which I just need to add an egg and should make a load for fairy cakes for him too to which I will add some melted chocolate from the Easter stash of chocolate. With his cake and jelly he will have a banana, some strawberry's, a handful of either cherry tomatoes or carrot sticks, and I have found some mini part-baked sausage rolls in the freezer which I will throw in the oven when Im making tea tonight and he can have a couple of those instead of a sandwich.

DH is away for half of the week this week so don't need to feed him until Wednesday so that will save a chunk of what I have in!

Hello, I will be joining you again.

    Welcome to the new people.

Sorry, I don't know about rice for rice pudding as I have never had it.

Well, I have got to do a fiscal fast as I was extremely bad during May and spent far too much money on incidentals such as wool and books.

So, I will endeavour to do as long as I can on a fiscal fast. I do have £25 a week grocery budget that I may dip into, but definitely no more spending on incidentals!

I have menu planned for a fortnight, and I need to find a recipe for biscuits as we are out. Got baking ingredients in except for eggs.

    Good luck all.

well day one of June and NSD today at all.Yesterday I went through my kitchen cupboards and found so much stuff I had forgotten about so its definitely 'shopping from my cupboards' this month.
I dug out some minced beef to make the lasagne with this morning and used up some sad looking mushrooms chopped up and thrown in as well. Also some diced frozen yellow and green peppers helped 'bulk' it out a bit.I made quite a big one and its in the fridge .Tomorrow my friend is visiting for lunch and I know there will be left-overs from the pasta so that will be boxed up and frozen for another day .I had a bit of lasagne sauce left over so I put it into a small dish and covered it with a small tin of macoroni cheese I found in the cupboard and have frozen it for a lunch/dinner meal later on in the week. So tomorrows lunch will be the lasagne with some salad then in the evening i will probably have a light supper of maybe and omelette as luch will have filled me up:):)
Tuesday I will be having something at DDs as its DGS Henry's birthday.
Wednesday will probably be the mac-cheese and pasta sauce .
    Thursday will be ham salad
and Friday I will dig some fish out from the freezer. So no need to shop until hopefully at least next week-end.My food purse is firmly closed this week :):) I made some cake and biscuits yesterday and a big pot of celery soup as well. That will do for light lunches during the week.I found that I had run out of S.R. flour so just used plain flour with some baking powder added rather than making a trip to buy S.R. flour I try to adapt as I go along and once baking powder is added its fine to use in S.R. flour recipes.
    As my DDs would say
    'Frau Frugal rides again' :):):)
Onwards and upwards chums ,hang on to those pennies :):):)

    Good Morning all,

On my 2nd day of my fiscal fast and so far all is going well.

Ran out of sweet things to have with our evening cup of tea but have found a recipe for shortbread. Have ran out of eggs, and fancy a change from banana chocolate cake.

Have put the bread maker on to use up some out of date flour and dried milk powder, plus we are out of bread, missed my toast this morning.

Washing is being done on the quick cycle and I have hung the washing out on the line, it looks a bit grey so I may be running out to retrieve shortly! The forecast is clear of rain though, so fingers
    crossed.

Need to deep clean the kitchen today, as have a new stove arriving on Wednesday! So happy, as my old one is down to one working hob, and the main oven cooks crookedly, always having to turn meals around on the rack!

Hope you all have a good day.
