I would but I have had three LSD this week. I am trying something very different. I am raiding the local YS bargain bin every few days. I am currently cooking a cauliflower cheese using 2x 12p YS cauliflowers. So my shop has actually been lower than normal as I am only trying to buy YS items and make meals around what I find. Last week I found a big bag of YS 12p carrots and they went into my chilli. Then I restocked the freezer with 2.5 kg of YS beef for £1.90 so that will make nearly 80 meals when bulked out. So my fiscal fast would be very short. Though am expecting to complete four days before I spend again.

Hi frugal sod, sounds like you have good sense enough about spending money,80 meals that's impressive from one piece of meat.i love us that's my problem I feel I need to go shopping I case I miss something lol. Well tomorrow finishes my fast and it wasn't hard as I had so much in. Really need milk and fruit so that's all I buying, will go Sunday night to tescos and then do fast for a further week. I fancy using up a good bit of baking stuff in the coming week so will make soda farl s and pancakes etc instead of buying bread. We need biscuits but I refuse to buy any as so much baking stuff to use up. Well it's a lovely day here so away to do a wash take care and will pop on again on Sunday xxx

As to the bulking the meat out I use carrots, lentils, cans of value tomatoes and kidney beans more lentils and what ever else I have available. This week I had a lot of mushrooms and they went in. Sometimes I have peppers and they go in. Lots of cumin and set going on the slow cooker and a pound of mince will easily spread to 16 or more meals. So my bulk buy of 5 packs of YS mince will last ages.

I too bulk out with lentils and oats I find they are great and nobody has mentioned to me they seen them.baked spuds are fab too I don't buy the bakers just bags of spuds with biggish ones in the bag, have planted my spuds for growing so come summer shouldn't need to buy any, lat summer I near caused another famine here as they had so much blight so here's hoping for blight free this year. Can't understand as lady a couple of doors up from me didn't have blight and her spuds were great, which way the wind blows I suppose lol.

My shopping has been very low but more than usual as it has been on YS items. That has meant my food stocks have gone down very slowly and I might actually try it again, but not until I have an empty fridge. I still have some nectarines and leeks to use up first. Though I am going to need some cash back sooner or later for next month.
