How did it go at the private hospital? Did they have an earlier date?
Honestly it was amazing.
I phoned them, they offered me an appoinment TODAY!!!!! but as I am painting the bathroom I said when would the next appointment be.....thinking you know next week, next month.......nope TOMORROW.
I was stunned.
I have never in my life rung the doctors and had such a lovely friendly conversation with a person who was so keen to help and make me feel better.
Nor have I ever got an appointment so quickly. Never.
so yeah....tomorrow.
I know it sounds daft but I am so ingrained in the system of no you can't see the doctor/dentist/ anyone ever until you are practically dying and yes the next available appointment isn't till next year that I never really twigged the private system would be SO different.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Have just logged on for the first time in ages and have to say wet myself laughing at your exploits.

I am a bit annoyed with myself to be honest.
I can't seem to let myself have any fun! I have relaxed for the last 3 and half weeks, not done my decluttering or school work or built the fish pond or done the garden. And instead of saying yes Buffy you have had 3 weeks off and it's fine I am feeling guilty and stressed(!!!!!!!!!!!) I can tell I am stressed as my chin is a mass of huge spots (but none on the rest of my face yea!!!!)so I am going with the guilt and going to get a move on re my list, this list that follows me around and has in fact followed me for years. I WANT to be this organised together person who knows what's happening and doesn't just drift. I hate living the way I do, messy disorganised and guilty all the time! There is only so long I can live off previous glories!
SO the list. This is the long term runs round my head and drags me down. It must go.
1. paint bathroom
2. dig fish pond
3. Edge and weed garden (well weed and edge I suppose)
4. Tip run
5. my room - declutter
6. paint my room
7. put up hutch
8. Paint hutch
9. sell/give away big fish tank
10. Write mini Essay (on groups)
11. write dissertation (on who knows)
12. Get car fixed (text mechanic)
13. Go to dentist (ring dentist)
14. Charity shop books bags and clothes from declutter
15. put up new shed in the garden
16. Actually get man (have phone number!) to come clear garden and take away old shed
17. Ask neighbour to clear weeds for us.
18. Hospital (tonight)
19. conservatory (clean)
20. Finish the garden. (pond, weeds, plants, stones, seats, etc) (not much then)
21. Box of Doom
22. Filling
23. School work
24. Classroom.
25. check in with list on 1001 days site
26. clear out my shed and EBAY stuff.
I will add more later, Breakfast is ready!
xxx
later.........
I REALLY need to get rid of my fish tank in my room, I need the space and to be honest it is too small for the fish that are in it.
I am going to offer it for free on a couple of forums I am on. I have already listed some guinea pig cages (God knows they had enough!) for sale.
It is a mentally long list and I am not expecting to get it all done in the next 2 weeks but I do think if I got on with it I could make some serious progress.
It has to be done. The sooner I can sort out the list the sooner I get on with my life.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
There is nothing like a hospital appointment to make you realise how alone you are.
To be honest both my mum and my friend offered to come with me but I was being all brave and together....that didn't exactly last!
I went, met a lovely doctor who explained what would happen and then offered to do the biopsy there and then. They are sure it is the non life threatening one but have to cover all bases. I am trying not to worry.
I figured what the hell, I was terrified and it was unlikely that I would come back to be honest so I thought it was best to get it done.
Firstly it hurt. a lot. I am wuss when it comes to pain though but being there on your own and being surrounded by strangers was not great. It was a bit scary as it was bleeding so badly.
It bled so much that I had to have a stitch put in it so am now gift wrapped. And the nurse (who was lovely) had to squeeze my nose and I had gauze over my whole face which did nearly make me lose it.
The stitch means I wont be able to go out much for the next 7 days which is in one sense depressing but in another handy in that I can focus on the house and painting the bathroom and doing the Garden.
I'll need to get a loan. To be honest I am really down about it. I am having an evening of self pity. I will snap out of it as I know I am lucky for many reasons, many many good reasons.
Just give me a minute.

Blimey Buffs you are not a wuss.
That was bloody brave of you I think.
If thevy think its not life threatening they will have a good idea.
