Then I should be ok and the transfer will happen after 24th April?

I can't find the options you quote on the transfer form I can see on the Santander site.

But if you have a form that has those options, in theory you should be ok.

In practice, I wouldn't chance it. I spent half an hour on the phone to the Santander ISA team, asking them whether the transfer date would be the day they request the transfer, or the day the other bank actually sends the money. There must be some industry standard on this, I reckon - - - - and the decisive date is probably the request date (given that you get interest from the date your new ISA provider receives the transfer request form). Santander guys understood the question but don't know the answer.

The Santander guys never mentioned to me that there's an option on the transfer form that lets you select an option - - do you have a link for the form with an option?

In any case, I probably wouldn't chance it - - I'll hand-carry my transfer form into the nearest Santander branch the day after my ISA with my old provider has matured. As long as that is within 14 days of opening the Santander ISA, all should be fine. Though there's no guarantee they keep the current offer much beyond the new tax year, if that.... so a bit of a conundrum for you, I can see that...and I don't have any answer to it

Logged on to our new Santander ISA accounts yesterday and no sign yet of any transfers, looked again this morning and still nothing.

Checked our Barclays ISA accounts online where transfers are coming from and both ISA accounts have disappeared without a trace, no statements available, nothing, so assume they are in transit, just a bit annoying/worrying that Barclays don't show account closed or something..........

If you have opted for online statements there is an option to look at closed accounts. My Barclays ISA statement appeared the day after it disappeared from the main online banking screen. This means I know the amount that has been transferred. It's just a shame it hasn't appeared in the Santander account yet. :(

It's on the transfer form that you linked to. On the right hand side of the page under "Transfer Authority".

I agree it does sound dangerous, although I may try it and see. If it doesn't work then I will just have to find another home for that ISA money when it is available next year.

    Can anyone suggest:
    1) Which is the correct Santander address to send the form to?

    a-

    or

    b-
    External Cash ISA Transfer Team,
    Building 2,
    Carlton Park,
    Narborough, Leicester,
    LE190AL

It's that one. I phoned to ask and they were confused too :rotfl:, but went away a couple times and came back with that address (the one on the form).
I asked the same question via secure message (I already have an online account) - the eventual response was very categoric: send to Bradford not Leicester.

    Typical Satandire.

Thanks for that, I checked again this morning and when selected account history it stated that my ISA account had indeed been closed. ;)

I then checked Santander to find my wife's ISA had arrived but mine hadn't :(
I guess they are pretty busy right now, will check again tomorrow.

DOH! Need glasses, I didn't see that at all! But having read it now, I'd still not chance it because I am not sure that a "....period of notice is required...." necessarily applies to a fixed rate ISA. E.g. I can transfer/close my Lloyds fixed rate ISA any time before maturity, without giving any notice. I'd stand to lose 160 days interest - almost £500 -- too much to risk for my taste. I'll just "gamble" on the 4% still being available in a couple of weeks time - and if it is not, there are other good alternatives still around, I am sure, where the loss of interest would amount to a lot less than £500.

Hi I was just wondering what happens if I don't get around to funding this account within the 14 days?

    Thanks in advance!

They'll probably cancel your application. Call 0800 681 6691 and ask them
