My Nationwide account shows 'counter cheque withdrawal' :wave:dated 15th March, which is impressive, as I only posted the transfer form to Santander on 12th. Just need it to appear in my 'upgraded' Santander ISA now and I can sleep easily :)

Quick update for anyone nervously watching transfers into this account:
Santander ISA now shows '19 March 2012 Cheque paid in at banking centre'

Apart from the archaic use of cheques for inter bank transfers  this has been a speedy process. Transfers form posted to Santander 12 March, transfer completed 19 March.

Pretty good service from Santander :T

    After the 9th April 2012.

    I would say no - it's a fixed account.

Presumably you say after 9th April because of the bank holiday?

What, no Faster Payments 6th - 9th

What about the 2013/2014 tax year?

You can invest now for the 2012/2013 year but will you then be able to put more money in come April 2013? :-S

the answer is a definitive no

Yup mine happened the same date, same entry. I posted my transfer form on 12 March, so one week to get to them, them to apply to Barnsley BS and they transferred out on 16 March. Only thing that would be better is backdating!
I was really expecting all sort of delays and excuses. Pleasantly surprised :)

I called on Saturday to transfer our existing Flexible ISA's to the 2 year fixed ISA. When someone eventually answered they said they were extremely busy, but would take my details and someone would call back next day between 3-4pm

Waited patiently yesterday and no call........

I called tonight and spoke to someone within 5 mins. Managed to transfer mine, but had to listen to reams of T&C's both spoken and recorded. Passed the phone to hubby to transfer his and he had barely started when the line went dead.

Called back and had the whole rigmarole of T&C's again, but got it done.

It took about 15 mins for each one.

I have checked online and they have both been transferred.

Logged on to our new Santander ISA accounts yesterday and no sign yet of any transfers, looked again this morning and still nothing.

Checked our Barclays ISA accounts online where transfers are coming from and both ISA accounts have disappeared without a trace, no statements available, nothing, so assume they are in transit, just a bit annoying/worrying that Barclays don't show account closed or something..........

Same with my transfer from Halifax. The halifax isa account seems to have vanished from online banking on friday. I'm assuming this is because it is winging their way to Santander. I sent my isa transfer form in on 6th march. Agree that it would be better if old account still showed transfer/interest added etc. for peace of mind.

I also am transfering from a Barclays account. I did the transfer in branch on the 10th March and the money and account dissapeared around the 16th but as of today (20th) it still hasnt turned up in my Santander account. Seems my dosh is stuck in cyberspace :(

If its not in there by 23rd I will give Santander a ring and give their legendary customer services a try !

Just wondering if anyone considering doing a transfer into the account from another account which is currently in a fixed term?

For example I have another ISA which is fixed until 24/04/2012.

The T&C for the account say
Cash ISA transfers in are allowed on the condition that the cash ISA transfer in application form is received within 14 days of account opening.
If I fill in the ISA transfer form I can tick the box 1 below:
Where a period of notice is required for closure/part transfer of the existing
    Cash ISA, I give my consent to either;
    1. Serve the full notice period before this instruction can be processed
    2. Proceed immediately with the transfer and bearing any consequential penalty which may be applied.
The only condition seems to be the transfer form has to be submitted with in 14 days, it doesn't matter when the transfer actually takes place.

Then I should be ok and the transfer will happen after 24th April?

If we are unable to make additional deposits to this ISA in the 2013-2014 tax year, can we use that years allowance to open a new ISA, whilst still keeping the Santander one going?
