Well, I've finally received my welcome email following several days of silence (they must be busy), confirming opening of new ISA account (assume no further ID checks?). Would I also receive a welcome pack in the post?
In the email, they say to post the transfer form to a freepost PO Box address, but the address doesn't say FREEPOST XYZ123 (as I they normally do). Is there a need for a stamp?
Also, re. the transfer form itself, I gather I'm to only complete parts (a) and (b) if I want to transfer out my complete ISA amount which contains the fully subscribed 2011-12 allowance? I know this has been mentioned in a previous post, but want to make absolutely sure!
Thanks0 -
My pack arrived yesterday
It does look to be very hit and miss. Just hope the actual transfer goes through without any hitches _pale_Me too!
Although, as I said earlier, I won't hold my breath.
I was going to transfer three years worth of ISAs - one from Barclays - two years worth from Nationwide.
Then add the 2012/2013 allowance after 6th April.
Decided in the end to just try the one transfer for the time being.0 -

I went into the branch to ask about transferring ISAs.
A young woman went to find out and came back with a transfer form.
She then proceeded (while we were standing in the empty queuing area) to copy all the details, that were on the transfer form I had downloaded & filled in. What was wrong with the one I had filled in I don't know.
The form filling/writing was atrocious to the point it wasn't legible.
All in writing- not printing. No capitals. My middle name put along side my first name.
The National Insurance number, which was undecipherable, went outside the boxes, as she had written in the first four boxes then missed a box out. So the last letter was beyond the end of the line of boxes.
Leicester - was written as leister - I could go on.
I declined to sign the form and said I would go back after lunch.
Would I need an appointment? No was the reply.
I went back later, minus her form (I'd taken it away with me) - guess what? I needed an appointment.
My original form was eventually accepted but as I've said already - I won't hold my breath for the correct outcome.0 -
^:rotfl::rotfl: - That's all I can do.0

Ah-ah - just checked my Barnsley ISA. It now shows zero balance! Having cancelled a transfer to PO I instigated Santander. I checked with Barnsley and it did go to Santander! Phew! :j
So halfway there, money in limbo for a bit!! :wave:0 -

My Nationwide account shows 'counter cheque withdrawal' :wave:dated 15th March, which is impressive, as I only posted the transfer form to Santander on 12th. Just need it to appear in my 'upgraded' Santander ISA now and I can sleep easily0 -
Can you have more than one Santander 2 year fixed 4% ISA?
I was thinking of transferring an existing Santander Flexible ISA and then opening another one with new money after 5 April.
I have read that you can open one now by transferring and also add new money until 14 April, but I would prefer to keep them separate.
Just curious, but why do you want to keep them separate?
Sometimes you can get better rates on higher balances, but in any event, once your subscriptions become 'old money' (in other words previous years') you can split and transfer them any way you want :T0 -

What about the 2013/2014 tax year?
You can invest now for the 2012/2013 year but will you then be able to put more money in come April 2013? :-S0
