Plusnet (https://www.plus.net) offer an 'unlimited' download 2Mb speed (line dependent) package for £14.99 all-in at the standard 50:1 contention, on a product called BroadbandPlus. It's currently free setup or free move if your already connected.
Please note to ensure a fair use for everyone if you are a really heavy user (ie >30G and like lots or PtoP etc) you should go on the 30:1 contention product BroadbandPremier which is still good value at £21.99.
I don't know why Martin doesent feature them in the main table as they have (and have had for some time) the cheapest full speed unlimited product for what I would think would be the majority of users.
I have used tham for 3 years and am happy with them.0 -
Update to my AOL move:
Called them and was polite but firm and was offered same service as I currently have for £24.99 (£5 less per month). I declined and re-iterated my request for migration code and received it by email within the hour with none of the hassle I had heard about. Hopefully the changeover will go just as smoothly.
I had also just had a free month (worth £29.99 to me)as I had complained numerous times about a small but niggling problem which they seem incapable of resolving! Actually their failure to resolve it is what set me off down the changing ISP route in the first place.

Just signed up to euro1net.com they are offering 512kbps unlimited for £10-00 per month with a free upgrade to 1mbps for a limited time. Only thing is you need to pay for 2years upfront and then you also qualify for a free modem. A copy of Panda virus protection is also included on the disc with the modem. I did have a slight problem in setting up but found the customer services staff very helpful.0

with respect to Plus.net - when you consider you only get free activation setup and modem if you stay with them for 5 years... maybe not....
http://www.plus.net/residential/broadband/bbplus_freesetup.shtml
"For every year you stay with PlusNet we’ll guarantee that the cancellation cost decreases. What does this mean? If you cancel within the first year, then you will pay £47 for the activation. For every year you stay we’ll reduce this by £9.40. If you also choose to take a modem as part of the offer there will be an additional cancellation fee of £25 in the first year and this will reduce by £5 for each year that you stay"
I personally wouln't signup to plus net for this reason - it is effectively a 5 year contract - heck no! If you leave before the 5 years are up - you have to pay a cancellation charge - as quoted above... year 1 - £47, year 2 ~$37, year 3 ~ £27 etc
For phone+broadband i recommend zazizam0 -
Sorry, I know they dont offer a phone service.0

To keep things in context what I can say is I beleive they have constantly had the cheapest broadband products (for the majority of 'normal users' inculding me) over the last 3 years or so. Therefore I have never needed to go elsewhere. They have even reduced what I pay and upgraded the speed several times while I have been with them (how many companies do that - more for less without asking!)
In this ever changing broadband world (8Mb round the corner then what??) I think it's difficult to second guess whats going to happen as when the changes do happen they are so big they completely superceed the current products. Sometimes I think it's best to go with what's good now, given a good track record (to my observations they have always lead the rest with price cuts and speed increases as the products/market changes), and worry about what happens next when it does.
Perhpas this is a bit like a fixed mortgage ie, you can always buy your way out if it (the deal) goes bad but you know you have the best deal now!
For info I'm currently free to go anywhere (as when I signed up the tie-in was one year) but thee is no where better (cheaper) to go to!
PS. One final counter, they have a reward scheme and every referal reduces your sub by fifty pence per month. So if you can get 30 of your freinds/collegues etc to signup you will pay nothing for your broadband! Get more to sign and plusnet will pay you on top of free braodband!!!
Just my opinion though.0 -
Sorry to be at risk of becoming a V21 bore, but £9-98pm for a 2M/2G package including their FreeTalk telephony deal (similar to TalkTalk) isn't bad in my view. And it all works pretty well too!0

Does anyone know what is going on with e7even, they seem to have completely lost the plot since changing to e7broadband I have not been able to get a connection for over a week and the customer service is not responding to either emails or expensive phone calls can anyone help?0

I used to work for Wanadoo and can tell you that any letters, emails, calls etc sent to them asking for a manager or director will not take happen. Wanadoo do not own any of their call centres. They simply outsource them. Therefore that even means that call centres cannot transfer calls between each other so customer services cannot usually transfer a call to sales because it's a different company taking the calls! Many reps will not even know where the other centres are based or head office details.
It's also any reps right not to state their surname (although I never had a problem with this when I took calls).0
