We migrated to madasafish from wanadoo about 2 weeks ago and so far are very happy with the service and would highly recommend.

    Dear Money Saving Experts,

Madasafish was recently featured in Martin’s article on low cost broadband providers; and we’re very pleased about this! We feel that our 4 month free migration offer can’t be beat and we were happy for the mention.

Being a fan of Money Saving Expert myself, I would like to make myself available in this forum to those who signed up for the services because of the article or anyone who has any further questions or comments about our services. We would like to make certain that anyone who did sign up because of Martin is happy with our services.

Prior to posting this message, we have received the proper permission to post in this forum from the site administrators.

I am part of the Customer Care team at Madasafish - if you prefer to not have your query posted on this forum, please e-mail us through our website and we'll get back to you straight away.

    Happy money saving!

    Kind regards,
    Mara
  • Ok I really need help here I have been on wanadoo since Oct last year and no probs i have there livebox and two laptops running on same connection. I get 100mb connection and was uncapped usage but just got a letter saying they are metering it now and i need to upgrade as in last 3 months i used 6gb a month that moves me up to 22.99 or 24.99 a month from the £17.99 a month i have, and i dont believe i use all that but they will disconnecet me they say if i dont upgrade... My question is is there another provider offering 100mb connections with more usage or a better rate for 100mb that anyone knows of as i try looking around but not all to clear. I am a BT customer not cable( i believe i would have to migrate as 3 month left on my old contract ???) Help me please point me in the right direction if possible

Do you mean 1mb connection, as there are no 100mb services in the UK, only places like Korea, your PC may be indicating 100mb due the router being connected to the Ethernet port wish is running at 100mb, but not the throughput from you adsl which will be much much slower. Wanadoo 1mb service with 2gb cap is £17.99.

You would need to see your 3 months out on your contract before you could migrate otherwise you would have to pay a fee for leaving early.

A look at https://www.adslguide.org.uk and the forums may help on finding a new provider. I am with Pipex myself after trying TalkTalk as Pipex are extremely reliable and are £23.44 for the unlimited 1mb service.

I stuck with BT Yahoo for months, as I was constantly promised 2MB unlimited upgrade as "almost available", from 512K

Eventually, this turned out to be not true - it was impossible to deliver 2MB to me for technical reasons. Yet BT kept me on a string with unkept promises for several months - when I reckon they knew all along the upgrade was never going to happen.

Having reviewed all the MSE options, despite there appearing to be a wide selection of choices, where I live it really only boiled down to 2. Of these, I choose https://www.adsl4less.com.

I now get a better service for 14.99 a month instead of 26.99 a month. The switch was really easy, although it did mean changing email addresses. Although this is a bit of a pain, it did give the chance to use a mail service independent of service provider - so if better deals become available, I can switch provider without changing email address.

For email, I now use https://www.mail.com. They provide loads of different packages, including free ones. Also, because of their wide range of addresses, it's usually possible to find a "JohnSmith"@mail.com option, rather than "Johnsmith17689"@mail.com, if that's what you want.

By the way, I subscribed to BT for about 5 years, and certainly in the last 3 years I could have saved money by switching to a better deal. The important thing to remember, is to consider that when you switch, the money you save is for ever - hence I "overpaid" BT by not £12 a month, but £12 x 36 months - i.e. £436 - aaaaggghhhh.........

Yes it is always wise to have your own email address, since I joined the internet back in 1996, the first thing I did was to get myself a domain name, thus allowing me to have my own email address that never changes. When I was on dial up, I was always changing ISPs, with broadband I have had 3 suppliers, having to use ISPs email addresses would have been a right pain. BT was never one of my ISPs as anything with BT on it means it will be a rip-off.

    Bad News!

Virgin.net will now charge a cancellation fee of £50 to anyone who leaves their broadband service after less than 12 months.

This applies to all registrations on or after 7th June 2005.

They have also I believe started charging £19.99 for USB modem, which was free until then.

Anyone who registered before 7th June but has not yet been connected will NOT suffer the above charge, as their terms are those which were current on the date they applied for the service.

Hi, I'm new on the site for posting even though I've been getting the emails for a while, but I got stopped in Morrisons the other day by a very nice NTL lady who is offering 1M Broadband with unlimited downloads for £9.99 a month on a 12 month contract, but you have to have it installed by the end of this month & they need at least 4 days notice to arrange the installation, apparently they're trying to catch all the students which is why its a limited offer, I'm at work so Ihavent had chance to go through the previous 25 pages on this subject but hope its some help to someone somewhere !!!!
  • Really I warn anyone who is thinking to go to Tiscali Broadband service in the uk - DONT! It is the most pathetic excuse of a isp provider ive ever come across. Ive had countless problems with tiscali broadband - line dropping out, not even connecting, speed issues - slower than dialup at peak times sometimes lol - the technical support line is laughable - you get tied up to a 12 month contract with this incredibly poor service - I should know because im with them at the moment - it sounds cheap at £15.99 for 512k 30 gig a month but dont be fooled - please save yourself loads of heartache ive had to go through - dont sign up to this..

Yes, I know it's nearly July now. I'm just posting my experiences on the boards to see if anyone had any similar experiences?
The offer was to sign up to their phone service and get a broadband service free for a year. At the time, we were with Tesco for phone calls and Virgin for broadband and the TALK TALK deal appeared good for us. The phone transferred easily and painlessly but the broadband transfer became a bit of a nightmare, although it's all sorted now.
The problems were caused by a faulty website application form which didn't transmit all the information they needed and then they said they were inundated with applications. The connection was eventually made in June.
We've been connected now for a month and the service has been reliable and carefree. I was able to stay with Virgin for the broadband service until Talk Talk got it sorted out, so there was only a small period when I had no service (and that was my fault for not reading their letter properly!)
I'm also the proud owner of two Speedtouch 330 modems as Talk Talk gave me one as part of their package.
