I doubt there were many workmen beavering away at 7am on a Saturday morning (I'd be delighted to be proved wrong). In my experience, far too often the motorways are coned off with speed restrictions for weeks on end and not a blessed thing is happening.
Speed per se is not the problem, it's driving inappropriately fast in a given situation that is.
Speed = driving fast (you can use the both terms interchangeable, but note that they are not mutually exclusive)
as to whether its appropriate or inappropriate to do so, it is not up to the driver to decide. What seems appropriate to an 18 year old may not be appropriate to more mature/experienced drivers. This is why we have speed limits.0 -

If that was me, I would print out the Daily Mail 1p item feature (i'm sure someone has it one here) and march down to the store and demand to see the manager, wanting to know why you where accused of theft and what exactly you had done wrong, apart from pay the price asked by Tesco'd for items on its shelves. If I didn't get a satisfactory apology, the ban recinded and some kind of compensation then i would be calling the daily Mail reporter who wrote the 1p article so they could do a nice big spread on it.

:(He was a roadworks engineer and he was on the edge of a lane which was cordoned off. The driver of the car that hit him told the court that he was in a hurry to work, and that the road wasnt busy.
IMHO, speed limits are there for a reason and should be adhered to irregardless of whether the road is busy or not.
That's very sad and I'm sorry about that, but as I stated previously, no-one would have been working at 7am on a Saturday morning.
And incidentally, seeing as I seem to be taking some flack for sticking up for Celebrate a bit after mmw's remarks, it wasn't me who was speeding!Hope is not a strategy.0 -

Ok, just a quick post from me. It gets more ridiculous by the minute. To summarise HO call back, can't tell me what I've done wrong, store ban whilst they investigate insider trading, I purchased something only the staff would know was reduced, but can't tell me what. Isn't authorised to obtain details from store!! Store have sent letter to me and will investigate, I can write back if I wish. They have informed other stores, who will make their own descision on if they ban, but can't tell me which ones or what their descision is. Can't provide police ref, only store privvy to this info!!!??? am now left with waiting a call back from store to explain themselves
Once they tell me the item they are reffering to, I may just send them a couple of links (not from here) to show them that is the biggest load of ......., insider trading my backside :mad:A clinically depressed person with a sleep condition. I'm in my own little world, but it's ok the people like me here
Any offence is not intentional, I'm really quite harmless0 -
Got a DTD on Ariel Gel 25 wash today. SEL was £8.17 but extra sign on shelf advertising P&G olympic stuff and £8.17 down to £5 in red. Went through at £8.17 so £1.83 each. DTD no probs, duty manager said they were old labels, but the price up until Tuesday was £4 not £5 so I'm not so sure... anyway, something to keep and eye out for0
