Broadband (M) is increasing by £1.50/month.
Line Rental & Talk Unlimited are not increasing in price.

They've already changed my M broadband to L, as M is no longer offered. I didn't ask for it and it's still 10Mbps, they just decided to charge me an extra £4.50 a month from when an engineer replaced their modem, which had failed. When I complained, they agreed to credit me £4.50 a month as they can't put me back onto M, since it no longer exists!
Anyone get only broadband from them and is facing an increase?
There is a Broadband (L) 10 MB/s which is slightly different, can't remember how.

I dont know how to check speed,
i have been with virgin for many years and the only time i notice a difference in speed was when i went from dial up to cable:p
to check speed, go to http://speedtest.net/
& click on "BEGIN TEST" button0 -
thanks c-m
download speed 2.40
upload speed 0.24
i guess i was right. Is that slow?0 -
that is very slow, though it depends what package you're on.
If you're on a 2Mb its good, if you're on something higher then it's rubbish and you ought to be complaining and getting someone to check the line/utilisation in your area etc..
To put it in persective, I can often get over 4Mbps down and 2Mbps up from my mobile phone, let alone a cabled internet connection.
That said, if you can do everything you want to do on the internet and are happy, then it doesn't matter much.0 -
Yes i am on 2mb broadband deal. No real complaints, only the £4 increase they now want me to pay....debating whether to let virgin go & just get a dongle0

M is no longer offered?...Really?
I am supposedly still on 2mb:D
I guess it may depend if you're on cable or standard phone line?
I started out on cable at 1Mb, which subsequently went up to 2, then 10Mb. I nearly always get very close to 10Mbps reported by speedtest.net along with 1Mbps upload.
The VM website only shows L, XL, XXL and 100Mb. They obviously didn't think XXXL was a good name to follow XXL.
