I meant to go this moring but got up too late - I'm not sure I can be bothered to trek over after work (because they'll likely be sold out).. ah well, I'm sure there will be lots of good offers about once the PS3 comes out.

I was ay my local asda-west bridgford in nottingham, a couple of hours ago and they had quite a few ps2's left, and a couple of xboxes, if that helps anyone.

Can anyone confirm if the PS2 on sale at Asda is a PS2 slim version or origianal thicker version

Yes....went at about 12:30pm, apparently they only had 12 units and were sold out in less than an hour this morning. No more due in during the offer period of three days either....!!!!!!.

I rang my local store to see if they had any left and I was told that the ones for £49.99 are all black slimline ones.

I bought one - they are all black slimlines.
Onboard network port and IR reciever but no hard-disk capability
(unless you can find a compatible USB drive)
