Ps2 £49 at Asda (merged)

I've just got back from Southgate, London branch, there were no ps2s left (sold out by 8am apparently) but i did manage to bag an xbox bundle for £49, not sure how many of these are left- she she said she thought there was only one left when she went to look for me out back, but then when she came back with it, the lady behind me asked her if she had another, and the lady said she 'might have' when she had obviously just been out back to look! all very vague and a bit fishy!

can someone tell me the difference between xbox and xbox360 and whether the new xbox360 games can still be played on an xbox at lower quality?

Apparantly the Xbox bundle is down to managers discretion as to whether the games are included or not. I tried 3 Asdas and they told me that it is definitely for the console only. An Xbox at £49 without the games is not a particularly good deal. With the games is good, however Xbox games can be found for a few quid in most high street games stores.

I was also told by one staff member that the Xbox is being reduced to £35 nationwide in Asda in 2 weeks (Friday March 16th) as they will be having some more stocks arriving. That will be a very good price.

Original Xbox that you got today is a few years old now. It came out in March 2001.
Xbox 360 came out in Nov 2005 and is technologically much better, although costs more (though this is dropping nowdays)

360 games aren't backwards compatible, although quite a lot of Xbox games can be played on the 360.

Just went to Asda Hatfield an hour ago and picked one up. The guy on the desk said they had about 20 left but that they wouldn't last long! I just need to get some games now!! Good luck all.

My local Comet had a couple of Playstation (not specifically PS2) games for 49p each. It's always worth a look in the bargain bin there.

But nowhere near as many as you might imagine! i.e. FIFA06 for PS2 doesn't play on the XBox 360 - over half of the XBox games my boys have don't work on their 360.

Just phoned Grimsby & Scunthorpe - no PS2s left at either store!
