Ps2 £49 at Asda (merged)

If you've got an old clanky 'big' PS2, this could be a good buy especially if you've got zillions of PS2 games like we have

i'am actually looking for old style(big one) ps2's i use HDloader with it ..... does anyone know anywhere ... online or not online ... that has old stock?

Just got mine from norwich they has about 20+ left behind the counter, i want one for guitar hero I & II and bully, am sure theres a few more games i'll get to play to.

Asda Thanet received a delivery of 35 and are not allowed to sell to staff unless they go in as customers. I was there at 8am and they hadn't even been put on display by then.

It depends what you want it for - I'm sure there will be a lot of old kit for the PS2 going on Ebay (though I'm not sure not sure I'd trust the condtion of a 2nd hand console) which buyers of this can take advantage of (I've seen second hand PS2s for sale for over £70) - I'm not in the market for a PS3 or a 360 and the "old tech" here will keep my family entertained without emptying my pocket.

HD gaming is all very well but I don't see the point on an SD telly.

Just got one from Basingstoke store.

About 10 left on the shelf but they aren't priced up so had to check with customer services ( £49.00 ).

None left in asda small heath the nearest to me!

Asda minworth have under 40 left but cant reserve them and I cant get there till 12 so will have to phone nearer the time to see if any are left!!!

The XBox 360 is in a different league to the PS2 - you'll get much much more use from an XBox 360 and one decent game and XBox live than from a PS2 and a handful of it's games.

Okay it's a decent price but £49 is all it's worth now and I'm damn sure I wouldn't be in Asda at 6am to get one.

Just because something isn't the very latest technology doesn't automatically render it "worthless". I'm guessing that a lot of people (like me) don't "game" as enthusiastically as others so this is a very good deal for what is still a very good console with a vast library of quality, reasonably priced games available. I agree that the 360 is probably a better machine, but not for me it isn't - not at that price... and I cant finish Resident Evil 4 on a 360!!!

Got one in Elgin they have 20 to sell. They didn't put them on until 9am. They also have Xbox's for £49 with games too. Don't know what the games were, more focused on my PS2.
