Just saw on hotukdeals that on Thursday ASDA will be selling the PS2 for £49 - probably to get rid before the PS3 but still a bargain and it is a sony dvd player. INstore only. 1 per customer

Was going to buy the silver to match with tv etc but may not be able to resist at this price. Am sending hubby on his way to work tomorow to check it out. Thanks for alerting us to this!

amazing price but its obvious as the PS3 closes in also i already have one sadly just to fill people in is it the slimline or the old bulky one. you can thank me later peeps

In case anyone wants the silver slimline the best package deal I've found is in argos. The console, mega accessories pack and best sellers game pack (5 games) are on offer at just under £150 in silver if brought together. This is not mentioned on the website but is an insert in the instore brower book. The black one is a bit less, can't remember how much.

Saw this on Hotukdeals, thanks to OP tuts-is-me. Couldn't find anything on ASDA site. Apparently one per customer.

A very good price for a console that will still be playable for years and where the games can be brought at a reasonable price.

Don't get hung up on the branding - Sony DVD players are no better than anyone else's. I wouldn't pay that amount for a DVD player with no display, so don't get it for that reason alone.
