Morning all.
Just a quickie as I haven't done the sandwiches for lunch yet.
Stefejb - hope all goes well for your dd today.
N9eav - I don't post everyday because sometimes I don't have a lot to say (like this morning really) but I do try and drop in to see what everyone's up to.
dlb- Happy birthday for yesterday. Sorry I didn't get a chance to do it yesterday.
Not a lot doing today except w**k. DH is away now until Sunday so might get some housework done at the weekend. I haven't been feeling great the last couple of days but went to bed at 8.30 last night and slept right through and feel a lot brighter this morning.
More car troubles as I've just had the alternator replaced and now it seems as though I might need 2 new headlamps (complete things). Think I might just trade the car in for a newer one.
Well must go and get the sandwiches done. Hope everyone has a good day.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323

Morning all :hello:
Went a bit mad on amazon last night - after viewing the Grabbit While You Can board, I may say. Not exactly moneysaving is it? I did get a Le Crueset casserole dish with lid for £19-ish. I was given Le Crueset pans as a wedding present 17 years ago and I'm still using them so I figure this dish will pay for itself reasonably soon.
I also bought a Ministry of Sound CD player for £7.99. I bought the self same one from Asda before Christmas for £15 and at that time Amazon wanted something like £65 for it so I figure that I have another bargain. I also ordered a Bill Bailey DVD set that I can put away for a birthday. Free postage on all of it so I haven't done tooooo badly but still feel guilty this morning for spending money when I am supposed to be buckling down to save it!
Well, Ash Wednesday today so for us Catholics no over-eating is allowed today at all, in fact fasting is the order of the day if you can manage it. The eggs are boiling in the pan as I type (it's also a no meat day, except fish of course). I always moan on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday when I have to fast but I always feel better for it at the end of the day.
Does any other branches of the Christian faith require fasting today? Showing my ignorance here but I would be interested to learn.
Need to go and deal with the eggs! Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone and (((hugs))) to stefjb and DD. Also ticklemouse."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

yes I do.
I always feel like I dont really have anything interesting to say that others want to read - plus sometimes Ive asked questions and they get overlooked - so feel abit invisible at times:o I know everyone's a really nice bunch here and its not intentional - its more my own insecurities making me feel that im not interesting enough so that people would be interested anway.
gosh thats heavy for this time of the morning!! (note to self....shut up and go get coffee)0 -
 Morning all
off to work in a mo, just waiting for the WM to finish.
I thought the daily was a bit quiet because of 1/2 term, some this week and some last. It changes people's routines so maybe they can't get on as much as usual.
to do list for today - meal plan for week ahead; get back on track with diet:silenced: (things have literally gone pear shaped!:D:eek: ); tidy round the computer; go to work.
DD and DS are on a stay over at gran's on friday night. Need to find something for DH and I to do that doesn't involve eating and drinking.
Shez - I know how you feel. I've just persevered and assume people can ignore my posts if they want. Not something I would ever do in the "real" world. But reading this thread - and posting - keeps me on top of things. And I love to read what you're all up to.
Anniebooklover - day of fasting and abstinence here too. Tho I did send DH off to work with leftovers from last nights quiche (eggs, cream, bacon oops) Broccoli soup tonight though. (We are catholics, DS suggested he give up mushrooms for lent. Nice try, he hates the things!) I have CofE friends who also give things up for lent, but they don't have the meat and fasting bit - though that could just be them."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Snap!
Or sometimes I just can't bring myself to post....dunno why I suppose I think I am a tad boring and have nothing to say:rotfl:
I have to say though when I do post regular I feel more motivated by everyone else and what they are doing.0 -
good morning everyone, hugs to everyone, hope those of you not feeling well feel better soon.
Stefejb - hope all goes well for DD today.
ageandjo - are you eating properly? I find that if I'm not then I get really sluggish. I usually find that looking after myself for a few days and it goes away if it's just generally run down and mopey. When I get really depressed then of course it's not that simple and I tend to just battle on doing what I feel like doing and not beating myself up for not doing what I think I should be doing because that just makes me feel worse.
Had left over pancakes for breakfast - yummmmm. Off to work in a sec, start new role today though I'm still waiting for the confirmation letter from work as they post them rather than give them to you in person.
Have decided to give up spending money for lent, or atleast spending money on things that I don't need, so no popping to the shops at lunch time unless it's to the postoffice, and no shopping at the weekend. I usually end up buying something to eat that I don't need or really want, so I'm sure it'll do both my weight and my bank balance some good.
Have a good day everyone.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
Morning all
I am struggling to keep up with the daily thread (and everything else!) as I'm too busy with w**k, kids etc. However, I like to know I'm not the only one, and sometimes reading that somebody else has done something jogs me into action.
WM is on as it's lovely here today. DH has just brought in the last of the apples from the shed. We picked and sorted them all last September, made 16 gallons of cider  (14 gallons left!). loads of cakes and crumbles. However, I really need to freeze the rest as they are starting to go a bit brown. Oh yes, we also froze some of the unfermented juice for the kids and it is fantastic. I need to go and sort out the utility room, change it round from where the removal men dumped everything and then get the spare freezer on. We also have a load of beetroot, so I'm going to find your top tips on pickling them.
If there's any spare time, I promised the DDs we'd plant some seeds. On Sunday, my Dad and I dug out the veg patch and one compost heap, so the ground is all ready for them. We'll start them in the greenhouse, then hopefully they can go out once they'ds established. [No wonder I don't get time to post here!]
Hope everyone has a great day and hugs to those who need them. Melanie0 -
Morning! :hello:
Raining heavily here! I wonder if that is affecting our moods?
Shez - I feel just the same, in fact have been away a whole month and don't think I was missed
Not a prob though as I have had a lot going on with family. DD not well with strange alllergy probs, I did post a query about this last month but it got no responses! Anyway ((((Hugs)))) to all; as I think we all need some today!
I am at the dentist today  wish me luck!

Morning everyone
Stefejb - hope all goes well with DD today
And good on Miss Penguin - seems to have her head screwed on
House is now empty as OH and friend, who was staying have both gone to work. Was going to go to Poundland today but its raining so not so sure now. Have some clearing up to do and then I think I will get on with designing some publicity material for our border morris side. Unfortunately due to ill health our numbers have fallen and we really need some new dancers and musicians for the summer festivals etc.,
have a good day everyone and hugs all round
Bye..................We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0
