No buying unnecessary toiletries in March - Challenge

Have finally caught up with the thread.
Have 2 UUS and another OUT that I sold to declare:-
UUs:-
Benefit It Stick. I got this as a freebie last year with a magazine. Loved it. Had sharpened it down to the point where the whole pencil would fit into the lid however the nib broke off completely so ended. Have replaced it with a tube of Laura Geller Banish & Brighten that I've had for ages and didn't like as it stung my eyes. Am using it sparingly just on the socket bone rather than on the under eye area and so far so good.
Tube of DKNY Golden Delicious body lotion. WNBA. It was glittery and I think this detracted it from being moisturising. Am using Elemis Lime & Ginger hand and body lotion now instead.
OUT: Tube of Spackle that came in the last Laura Geller TSV. Sold via ST.com.
Have repainted my nails this morning and am now wearing OPI Mrs O'Leary's BBQ. Love this colour. Looks classy for work.
So glad it's Friday and today is going to be manic. Last day for all the First Time Buyer's to get in there before the Stamp Duty relief runs out. Can't wait for the weekend.
Take care everyone. Val xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

:rotfl: :T:Twe'd be brilliant !!! Kinda like the hairy bikers but women...
Thanks again everyone - still a little sad,but its fine.Much better than I thought Id be!!!
Ive found somewhere near me that does shellac - it sounds like its much nicer for nails than any other types - ive never had things like this done before, the odd time ive had manicures its just been normal varnish after.... thankyou all for the advice though - its going to have to stand up to quite a bit of hard work though - Ive got the dog, and Red (who might be home at the weekend - yay!) and work all potentially chip-making... i hasvent looked for a "contact me" part of the website, but im sure there is one - maybe i will ask. Shes got french manicure shellac wtih a silver glitter on - its quite discrete and i think i might get away with it for work.... I could have it done the thursday before Easter and hopefully it will last all the time through to the following weekend... dont mind after that !!!
had a lightbulb moment whilst drinking early morning tea alone(DH had to go away again last night so had a night of nail painting ....bright orange)
anyway was thinking what I would do if we won the lottery(we only ever have a ticket if he wins one by doing the gym quiz and so far no numbers have ever come up!!)and if I REALLY think about it I don't know what I would spent it on.Hard tpo believe I know but we almost own the house now and it suits us so would not want a mansion(tho my own pool maybe?)I like the clothes I have and would not want to pay more for things anyway, toiletries I have in abundance:rotfl:,I could help my sons buy houses but think they should make their own way in the world,DH would get bored if he stopped working and not that bothered about owning a holiday house(I'd stay at 5 star hotels instead)so I am struggling to think what I would buy(I even ,love my old volvo from 1998 which is still going strong)0 -

What a lovely position to be in Rosemary! When I fantasise about this (as I often do although I don't play regularly), I can't wait to get a new house with all new things and beautifully decorated. I'd also help my friends to pay off their mortgages. And then there'd be lots of lovely holidays. And I'd definitley give up my job and volunteer somewhere a couple of days a week instead.
Off to Boots now - I have a strict shopping list though and will not stry! I'd go to a cheaper shop for them, but have vouchers/building up points for a great product (though I haven't decided which!)Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

rosemary, that's lovely. It's so nice to be in the position where you don't wish for a windfall. DH has loads of plans for what to do if we won the big one (hard to imagine as we never play it!). He is insistent that he wouldn't be bored because he would just wake up each day and decide what to do that day. Me, I don't know. It would be nice to give up work in the sense that I could then spend evenings and weekends with the family but I would be bored in the day time when everyone else is at work. At least at the moment, I have the housework to keep me occupied
. I would like some new clothes, in fact, I desperately need some new clothes. I'm down to 2 long sleeved tops at the moment which just isn't enough

It might hold if you remove the polish with a non acetone remover??
The other option would be to paint over the polish you've got on - a coat of glitter polish over the top will stop your colour looking tatty and refresh your manicure.
Thanks I will try painting over it tonight they all look a real mess today. Fingers crossed
Good news managed to find my missing Lip balm last night
Rosemary re lottery win me and DH have thought about it a lot. Here is our plan, buy a lovely detached house with large garden on the coast close to the beach, newly decorated with new furniture etc. Both give up work and spend our days walking the dogs on the beach. Send annonymous cheques to family and friends to help them out. Buy one expensive item each I'm thinking of expensive shoes (jimmy choo etc), DH thinking of DVD/Blueray Projector for watching movies. Think we'd also get a nice kennel for the dogs so they can stay outside all day if they want.0 -
re lottery,if I did win I would get nail poliish that did not chip!Last night I carefully applied base, two coats of colour and top coat and it had all night to set firm, juts been swimming and already 2 nails chipped badly and 4 others with small chips:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:maybe this is why I don't often do hands....toes seem to last better.Swimmming does not help I know but had hoped they would last till tonight:(
yes I am now in a good position financially but have been very hard up in the past (I remebr writing in a notebook save £1 to put into bank:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)now the 3 boys have gone through uni we are actually able to keep all our excess(once bills gone) money to ourselves:)0 -
That's the beauty of getting older rosemary
being able to choose what you spend your money on. One of the reason a lot of people still aim for home ownership as one of their life goals.
Hands very dry after cutting the grass. Need to cut open the tube of hand cream now so it will soon be a UUDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
UU Aveda 1 litre Colour shampoo WBA as its lasted yonks and has done a good job of not fading my colour. Onto a Kirkland 1 litre next.
If I won the lottery I would share it with my family and be booking lots of cruises!0 -
If I won the lottery I would like my job in a flash as work is still really awful. Not sure I would change anything else, no need for more clothes or toiletries, maybe would buy a detached house with a large garden and would still go to the suopermarkets and check out the reduced items and shop in charity shops!
Anyway back on topic, move over on the naughty step I have secumbed to the Weleda gift set, 10 items at £15 inc delivery I can't go wrong.
Also my Kiplings bags arrived today, very nice they are aswell.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and makes the most of this glorious weather :jLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
A Non Bought In - a 50 ml Vaseline body lotion, from Boots. Arrived very battered and with an elastic band holding it together.
Lottery ... once the family had been sorted and I'd set myself straight for the rest of my life, I'd love to help out some of the causes that perhaps get overlooked in places that have meant a lot to me. The village in Germany where I lived for three and a half years, the area of Cardiff where I was born and brought up and the town where I've lived for 23 years. That's why I support charities like Comic/Sport Relief as they often step in and help when local and national Governments will not or can not help.
I've already sponsored him, did anyone else see John Bishop's Week of Hell, the programme about his 5 day charity triathlon for Sports Relief ? It was enormously moving. He ended the week really injured, with shin splints and a wrecked Achilles tendon - and all for others. Top bloke and then some.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
