  • If you like Virgin Vie products, you should really try to build a relationship with a consultant. You'll get loads of free products (usually body stuff, not face stuff) and they'll give you a good discount if you buy your facial wash, toner, and moisturiser all at once.

I also love Virgin's Vitamin C range. It's really great!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'm a recent convert to Neal's Yard Remedies, particularly the Palmarosa Facial Wash. My skin is slightly oily, but sensitive, and the minimal chemical content seems to suit it.
I've used Virgin Vie, Tesco Skin Wisdom and Liz Earle in the past, but my skin's so much clearer with Neal's Yard. Liz Earle stuff is great, but I just prefer to wash and go. I also found the moisturiser too heavy, even the light one.
Moisturiser I use Tesco Skin Wisdom All Day Hydrating, and Neal's Yard Rose and Mallow at night.
  • I cleanse and moisturise,but I don't use a toner,never have.

    My routine is as follows...

In the morning I wash my face with Dove soap and then use Olay moisturiser with SPF 15,I have used this for years and it suits my skin.

Evening,I remove my make-up with Olay Daily Facials, the foaming ones, then I use a few drops of Rosehip Seed oil followed by No 7 Uplifting Night Cream and Eye Cream.

I can't afford to spend £100's on the latest miracle creams, which I am sceptical about anyway.

I am in my 50's and I am always getting told I look a lot younger and I do think my skin looks good for my age. This may be due to the fact that I have never smoked and I never sunbathe,I am obsessive about keeping out of the sun.

I think toner is only necessary if you have used a cream cleanser as it will remove any last traces of it, if you use a wash type cleanser then a final spalsh of cold water works just as well. IMO if you are going to splash out on anything, make it your moisturiser. Having said that the one I use is Lush's Skin Drink which is about £9 I think so not horrendously expensive. I use cheap boots botanics eye makeup remover and whatever cleanser I fancy at the time- currently Lush's Aqua Marina.

Botanics stuff is really good (from boots) and you can get £2.50 off if you have a boots voucher ;)

i remember watching this morning a few years aga and the beauty woman on there, think its nadine baggat she also does the ad for olay negenarist, and she said if you buy the vitaman e capsuals with vitmamin oil in them their the best thing, just squeeze the capsule and it comes out.
i have used them since then and it does work.
you have to put it on at night as it s quite oily, but before bed is best anyway
other than that i use nivia and im going to try the eye gel from superdrug as advised by someone

    hope this helps!
appreciate what you have got x
  • Hi my hubby has always said I am mad for spending so much on cosmestics, I have quite sensitive skin and most brands always irritate my skin to some degree. At Xmas I splashed out £90 on 3 Elemis products and after one month my skin was no better, perhaps worse. They were sold as natural products and when I checked out the ingredients list I nearly fainted. No wonder my face was red. They have been good enough to refund me, I should think so too since they prescribed them for me. Anyway I was finding it really hard to buy natural products and read that a certain person in the BB house used coconut and olive oil on her skin. I have tried both as a cleanser and they seem to work. I am not sure if you should use both together but they make my skin feel really soft. The first night I used the olive oil the next day hubby commented that my skin looked fab, first time in a long time since he has said that. There was a link here to a company called essentially yours and all there products are 100% natural, which is good for you and the environment. I am the first to admit I am a sucker for these glossy brands with their marketing and fancying packaging but now realise there are cheaper and healthier versions of everything out there. Not only has my bank balance improved but so has my skin and health.

I only use the oil at night to take off make-up and sometimes use toner. One brand does not recommend using a night-cream as night is when the body detoxs and putting a night cream on your face blocks this process. I think it is down to personal choice really.

I have extremely sensitive skin and had used Clinique for years before deciding it was wasn't doing anything for my skin, other than not stinging. I then tried Liz Earle and have never looked back. Suggest if you are going to try her products that you just get the very small travel size to begin with to see if you like the products (I know this works out more expensive, but at least you can try without buying a large size). I have done this with all of her products that I have tried and have ever been disappointed, always gone back for the larger size.

I was given a sample of Clinique toner once and after using it I looked like a burns victim for over a week! It's pretty dangerous stuff especially as I'm not allergic to anything and don't have sensitive skin.
