Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise!

A splash of cold water will tighten the pores between cleansing & moisturizing. The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0

loumac I know you can buy Liz Earle from QVC, I know Math has posted about this before, so hopefully he can respond to you about whether it's cheap to buy if they have special offers.0

I use rose water for cleansing and a pot of moisturiser from an all natural place somewhere near Brighton - £4 a pop. Work colleagues say I have lovely skin. There was a makeup artist on TV who said all the hype and packaging is not worth the money and that includes make-up.0

Fizog where do you buy rosewater from - I've heard before that it's supposed to be fantastic! I agree with you about the hype, I use Clinique foundation as it's the best I've found for my skin and covers really well, but with regards to mascara (that's all I wear) at the moment I'm on whatever was the cheapest out of Tescos cheapest range, and it's doing the job okay!0

It's definitely given me food for thought - especially the info about the clinique stuff.
I always buy from boots - hence my large advantage card balance in my signature but definitely still need to find a cheaper brand that works for me.
MATH/Cannylass - can you tell me where I would buy Liz Earle?
Angelina-M - Any tips on where to start soap making. Would you mind PMing me if you've got some ideas. Thanks!
Theres at least one good thread on soapmaking just a few pages back. I cant believe I used to pay over £100 for a moisturiser  Now I use natural gentle products, my skin never gets dry so I pop on a bit of wheatgerm/jojoba oil, whatever I fancy at night and a sunscreen for during the day. I'm not saying I dont use La Prairie any more because I do, the sunscreen for instance. I just prefer to use oils and soap (only homemade though, I wouldnt touch 'bought' soap with a bargepole!)0 -
You used to be able to get Rosewater from Boots, although I remember having to ask for it from the Dispensary - it was cheap though. Neal's Yard sell it too, although it's a bit dearer.0

There is a Liz Earle website I have bought from but when QVC has a Liz Earle TSV it works out a lot cheaper0

I use Boots wipes (nearly always on 2 for 1) to cleanse and tone, then lidl moisturiser. Surprisingly good stuff - my SILs all have v sensitive skin and allergies and they can all use this no problem. It's only £2.49 so worth taking a risk on - you can always use it as body moisturiser.
PS tho did I hear that M&S own brand stuff is clarins? Tried it and thought it was too perfumy and heavy personally but it is a lot cheaper0 -
I love the Virgin Vie stuff, I get the Stay Calm, but after getting some as a gift buy it from eBay as it's cheaper
I did used to pay more, but realised the VV stuff was better. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Rosewater and glycerine still sold in Boots!
I'd also recommend Neals Yard Palmarosa Cleanser (about £8 but lasts ages).
Lush cleansers are good - normally £2 to £4 (depends on weight).
Eyes - Superdrug vitamin e eyegel is AMAZING and costs <£2 normally. Better than the Chanel stuff I used to use at £30-odd quid a pop. All the superdrug vitamin E stuff is good in my experience.
I've also recently got into Rosehip oil as a night treatment. Apparently its the best thing for wrinkles/fine lines...had some from an aromatherapy ebay shop -about £3 inc postage.0
